cobraman Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 Thank you very much Ken. Doesn't look too bad in the glass cabinet.
cobraman Posted September 24, 2022 Author Posted September 24, 2022 Thank you Chris, it was a battle.
majel Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 From the pictures it looks like it came out nice. It's always disappointing when we finish a model and aren't happy with the results. I guess that's how we learn and it's what keeps us building. There's always the next one.....
CrazyCrank Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 you got the gist of that Trumpeter kit
cobraman Posted September 25, 2022 Author Posted September 25, 2022 Thanks fellows. You are so right ! I always have a vision on how my model should turn out but there is always something that just messes up . Always my fault. Paint and final assembly are my two biggest problems it would seem.
Plowboy Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 I think you did well with it Ray. No model is perfect. There always seems to be that one thing that comes up. At least you managed to push through and get it finished. I understand your disappointment with what your vision was and what it came out like. My last build was like that. I'm still not happy with the way it came out. Sometimes, it's best to just move on and chalk it up as a lesson learned.
slusher Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 (edited) Looks great Ray, you did a wonderful job! Edited September 28, 2022 by slusher
ATHU Posted September 28, 2022 Posted September 28, 2022 Nothing wrong with that build, looks fantastic!!
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Very, very good looking car. My gosh look at all of the details! No way could I have done this without a lot of cursing. Thanks for the good looking photography.
Phildaupho Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 What a pleasant surprise when I opened up your post expecting to see a sow's ear but found a yellow silk purse. Looks very nice in the photos and I am sure in the display case. I was just checking out what I hope will be my next project - a 1/24 GT40 MKI
cobraman Posted September 30, 2022 Author Posted September 30, 2022 Thank you Phil and Robert. Oh Robert I said a few choice words during this build.
Dave B Posted October 10, 2022 Posted October 10, 2022 You've done a great job Ray, would be very happy to display that in my cabinet! Dave B
sflam123 Posted October 12, 2022 Posted October 12, 2022 In my opinion you did an excellent job on this. Don't be so hard on yourself!! We all wish we could do better on about every model we finish. As the builder, we see the mistakes we make, the shortcomings in fit and finish and all the errors. To me it looks like you did a heck of a job on this build. You should be proud!
cobraman Posted October 12, 2022 Author Posted October 12, 2022 Thank you for your kind comments Stephen.
Funkychiken Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 Despite your remarks, looks excellent in the pictures!
1959scudetto Posted December 3, 2022 Posted December 3, 2022 What the others said, Ray - you did a very fine job in building this kit that obviously has its issues. The yellow Whitmore/Gardner entry had a very attractive livery and it looks very much like the real thing. Remember, race cars back in the 60's were not at all perfect so don't worry about fitting problems and some other issues that only you know - it might even add to reality.
