Chuckyg1 Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Just finished this one. I thought I'd go full fendered to be a little different. The fenders are smoothed units from RMoM, as are the door panels, seat and radiator. Like some others here, I wanted a different engine, and settled for one from Tamiya's 300ZX. Surprisingly, it fit pretty good. Just had to modify the engine mounts. The cone filters came from AMT's '41 woody. Small extensions from the exhaust manifold the to the pipes were all It needed. Tires, wheels & exhaust tips are from the Copperhead concept. Suspension is OOB. Shifter, pedals and out board mirror from the parts box. Gas tank was removed & a roll pan was scratched. Tail lights also came from the parts box. Paint is Testors lacquers, purplelicious & white lightning. Primer is Mr Surfacer 1000. First time I've used it, great stuff. I had a lot of fun with this build. Except for a few minor paint issues, I think it came out pretty nice. Thanks for looking. 3
NOBLNG Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Well I think it came out pretty nice too!? The Nissan engine is definitely different….probably take a ribbing at the car shows eh?
Dragonhawk1066 Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 That looks pretty slick! Quite an imaginative engine swap as well.
Zippi Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Nice looking 32. I like it with the fenders. That color looks just right for a Deuce. I'm working on a Monogram 32 and the interior just doesn't fit right.
70 Sting Posted April 20, 2023 Posted April 20, 2023 Nice custom build. Great colour scheme and choice of wheels.?
bluestringer Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Looks great. I just built one about a month ago painted with Testors Gloss Grape.
Rattlecan Dan Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Quite a unique looking Hot Rod. Like the different looking flame addition. Nice job.
espo Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Great looking paint treatment and colors. Like the full fender look. The engine is a departure, but a cool one all the same.
XYHARRY Posted April 21, 2023 Posted April 21, 2023 Nice 32 John. Engine choice is out there but works well on this build. Colours look great and the flames add a cool focus point. Wheel choice suits this model and interior is spot on. Well done. Cheers, David. ??
Chuckyg1 Posted April 24, 2023 Author Posted April 24, 2023 Thanks everyone for your kind comment. Yeah, the engine choice is out there, that's what I was shooting for.
