Yes, I think it's one of MPC's better (and maybe the best?) 1/16 scale kits. Definitely nicer in the the details than the recently reissued 1/16 MPC '79 Pontiac Trans AM, and AMT '64.5 Mustang and '55 Nomad. Round2 hasn't reissued it yet, but I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen within the next few years.

Richard Bartrop Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 I remember having one of those back in the day. Definitely one they should bring back.
tim boyd Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 May be mentioned elsewhere here, but I recall hearing, and then later comparing myself, that this kit shared much of its overall design with the Monogram 1/8th scale Corvette. I agree that it was one of MPC's finest efforts. If I ever decided to build a 1/16th scale kit, this one would be near or at the top of the list of candidates....TIM

When I searched before posting, there is another thread explaining that. Daddyfink posted the correct kit, thanks.
Greg Myers Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Their 1/16th 427 Cobra is a very nice kit as well.

dustym Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 I have one of those kits. I started it sometime in the mid 70's. I guess if I ever went back to it, it would be the oldest one i ever had. Ill try to look into it.

I have to believe it will be announced within the next year or two, as Round2 has already reissued most of their 1/16 scale kits I kind of doubt the original 200-S wheels and slicks can be part of a reissue, so I think the Rod Shop and Shaker versions are extremely unlikely. Still, the 2'n1 stock/street machine version last released would be great to see again if that's all that's possible.
mk11 Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 (edited) Those 200S wheels look like they're almost identical to the '65 Mustang wheels, sans the axle boss. Forgot how much fun I had building that one forty years ago; gave it to a friend with a Vette resto shop. Discovered I still had the unused tri-power setup here a couple of years ago. They're not as accurate, nor as well done, IMHO. They are 14" IIRC, so the spokes are stubbier, and I have yet to come across one which didn't have at least one sink mark in the center of a spoke. The rear slicks are rather small/short, too. ? Edited January 28, 2021 by Casey
oldscool Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 I built one back in the 70's. It was the boxing with the silver car. I thought it was a very good kit at the time.
Bucket T Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 I built the Rod Shop kit back in the day. I have all the parts, just couldn't find any repop decals, so it's been stalled.
dbostream Posted January 29, 2021 Posted January 29, 2021 Is there any indication Round 2 is even considering reissuing this? Would buy one for sure. Or any other 1/16 Corvette.
