  1. well, I know it's NOT a Scripps-Booth Mosquito...those didn't come with paint or seats.
  2. yup, that's a model...
  3. it's a shame that most of the great engine work stays hidden. congrats on the well deserved awards.
  4. Semper Fi to my brothers.
  5. there is another alternative that has not been mentioned... flickr.com is another hosting site that has a 1tb free account option. I have photobucket and flickr accounts, I don't have any complaints with my accounts, haven't tried fotki because I haven't needed to.
  6. for a second there I was beginning to think Harry would claim he is ambidextrous.
  7. The subscription text I read says they publish 9 times a year, if you do not receive your 9 issues of the magazine in a one year period then I would agree you have good reason to cancel your subscription. I think the guys that work hard on this magazine do their best and I'm just happy when I receive my copy in the mail. Would you consider helping them to get the issues out quicker?
  8. not really much of a threat, might as well cancel if you're expecting the issue on a certain day each month.
  9. looks like a gas cap to me.
  10. congrats, now start saving up for that replacement water heater and new roof...
  11. TV shows aside, consider that Chip builds cars for people that have the money to pay him to build exactly what they want built. I would guess that the majority of Chips' Ridler award winning builds are actually owned by someone else...that paid and may have waited years for their (now award winning) car to be finished. In fact most builders are building someone elses car. Years ago Squeege's Customs was a well known name but never got the media exposure that is seen these days, I've personally seen the work performed in the shop back then, some of it went on the show circuit back then also. Any person can say "XXXXX ruins cars", that is their opinion... I don't agree that anyone "ruins" anything just because what is seen doesn't meet with my esthetic for any particular vehicle. This post is all over the map so I'm going to stop.
  12. trans kits would be cool.
  13. I don't care if you like Foose or his work...new tools is great news.
  14. I keep hearing about people getting sued for anything that goes wrong while helping others....not a great incentive to help strangers.
  15. sounds like you just need to take a break from all that and come back with fresh eyes...
  16. I second that, nice use of the parts box.
  17. that use of mesh is killer! I was wondering what you used, thanks for sharing.
  18. windows update really carped on my laptop, totally buggered the wireless driver, which means you can't get a fix from the interwebs while that is busted and you don't have access to a wired interweb port. fortunately I wasn't born yesterday and knew of the process to recover from the problem but the average user these days would have just gone a purchased a new laptop or paid the "special" people at geek squad to possibly make it worse (or more expensive).
  19. can you remove the part of the firewall (while leaving the cowl in place) that is the cause of the problem, then put that back in after the chassis/engine has been installed?
  20. SUPER looking motors! I have been pondering about whether to thin the edges of fan blades on my future engine builds... opinions?
  21. small magnets in the air cleaner? I've heard that the air cleaner stays on better at wide open throttle...
  22. well, unfortunately in todays media hungry society, if it isn't cute or life threateningly dangerous, no one will watch it. here's a tag line that hits at least two of those "hot buttons"... "Stay tuned for the pet owner that gets SLASHED by their furry friend." (well, it's really a fuzzy little kitten being played with...but it could have turned deadly in a heartbeat) see what I did there...cute feline and deadly situation.
