  1. I agree with Harry on this one, nicely done.
  2. as posted on the Foose website, the F100 and the Eldorod were the winners of the vote.
  3. I think the idea of "trans-kit" detail sets may be the answer, a kit that has all the parts to go to what ever detail level you wish to attempt. It would be like a shopping list from an online seller... I know there are detail master PE sets for a LOT of kits (an amazing resource), wheel sets from various makers, various pre-wired distributor sellers...but a person would need to know all these sources and be knowledgeable enough to choose all the right parts. A web site where you can select a complete or partial detail set for a particular kit without having to hunt through several sellers sites might fill a modeling niche market. I have seen a couple sites that carry most items needed for most detailing areas but I haven't seen anyone offer an easy to select (and kit specific) option as described. A question to be answered will be whether model builders would pay the extra cost to have someone else do all the work for a "laundry list" of detail items to build a 67 Shelby 350 with proper options, engine, interior and chassis details including PE for all areas.
  4. 23 if you use the "fun size" clowns.
  5. I concur, excellent!
  6. excellent use of spare parts.
  7. I don't use IE so have no direct info on that, but... If you get a "notice" or message on your computer that you need to "update" something and you're not sure if the message is valid, go to the source of the software to check for updates. I.E. if you see a message to update Flash player, go to Adobe.com to get your update, if you see a message to update Explorer, go to Microsoft. If you click on any link in a questionable update message, you may be inviting malware or a virus to your computer and if you don't keep tools like Malwarebytes and/or Windows Defender active and up to date then you have just caused your own problem. Also be sure to read through all screens of any software that you install that's free, many include a free search utility that gets embedded in your browser and causes other problems. In most cases there is no need you any extra "search bar" utility...if you like them that's fine but you may end up having to pay to get them cleaned off your computer.
  8. sounds like you may have been infected by a "root kit", malwarebytes has a root kit remover also... mbar.exe is the installer, you should be able to get it from the "More Tools" tab of the Malwarebytes application. if that doesn't take care of the problem I suggest Rogue Killer as the next course of action, it's what I had to use when malwarebytes was insufficient to remove a stubborn problem.
  9. brief research indicates this may be caused by malware, the solution posted in the research was to run Malwarebytes anti-malware, there is a free version that is handy for cleaning and a premium version for proactive protection ( I had to install this version on my mothers computer).
  10. heh, he said "sheet".
  11. Yep. But the good news is my Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) is working again... which means my ransom payment has been processed and I'm good to go for another year. But man oh man, what a scam this "cloud" thing has turned out to be. I was truly taken for a fool by Adobe. If I had any idea that this is how the cloud service works, I would never have signed up. I know this will be a can of worms and I don't work for any software company...but... The software company sold you a license to "legally" use their software for a specified amount of time (when you "bought into the cloud"). But I bought and paid for my Adobe software long before I joined the "cloud." If I buy a software program and install it on my computer, I should be able to access and use that software forever. I paid for it. But the way Adobe does it, when you join the "cloud" they take back ownership of the software, and if I don't pay up every year, they take the software I paid for away from me. And that is just plain wrong. they may not let you down grade the software either, you won't know till you try uninstalling and then trying to install the version you purchased. at that point you may be screwed. I can't really fault Adobe on this, they provide support and version updates... in order to keep generating revenue they have to go to annual fee structure. I choose not to support that type of structure by using other software that has most of the functionality at a sixth of the cost and it does what I need it to do. Antivirus software used to be a buy it and get support for life, a few years ago they went to annual fees per machine install, that is when I researched a less expensive option.
  12. I blame the people using apple hardware... (just kidding, if it wasn't for apple, the other platforms wouldn't be so popular)

I know this will be a can of worms and I don't work for any software company...but... The software company sold you a license to "legally" use their software for a specified amount of time (when you "bought into the cloud"). In previous years a software license could be purchased without annual fees for support or updates, that is no longer true due to the cost of software updates but in the past we didn't have as many hackers as we seem to have now that can exploit any little software loophole. I'm not defending software companies, just trying to shine some light on a misconception. You do not own any software that you think you have just purchased, you have paid for the right to use it per the EULA (End User Licensing Agreement).
  14. fixed by resetting default theme

  16. based on my own experience, it seems if you get photoshop versions newer than 4 or 5 that you get mired in the photoshop cloud tar pit... that is one of the reasons I haven't tried to set that up for my wife who uses InDesign for newsletter creation. Anyone that has a business need for photoshop and can get their company to pay for it is lucky, me...I will stick with paintshop pro at a tenth of the cost of photoshop.
  17. nicely finished. one suggestion for the next one, drill out the air cleaner inlet, similar to drilling out the tailpipes...it's an easy detail to include.
  18. yeah, pretty soon all a haxor will need to do will be stand next to your brand new "net-enabled" car and purchase a new entertainment system for his home using your car charge account (which you didn't know you had)...or just crash all airport computers...
  19. fixed it by "re-applying" the default theme.
  20. that engine had a 1 bbl autolite carb, just about any stromberg with a square base would be hard to tell the difference at this scale. just rob a carb or two from any 3 or 6 carb intake set and you should be good to go.
  21. today, the icons on the main forum page to the left of the section headings have turned to the (broken) "not found" symbol, not really a problem for me but it's a negative change that wasn't there yesterday. I'm using the latest flavor of FIrefox on win8.1
  22. what....? like something without the body on it?
  23. The backing plate goes on the other side of the brake drum (on real cars). Of course, you may assemble it any way you wish.
