It's kinda like "this A-Bone is sanitary...just look at my wheel wells!" . I can dig that . Honestly, I never thought to do it but hey, first time for everything. It could set a new trend! ?

Who doesn't love a mock-up? Let's see yours!

This one caused me some respiratory discomfort, Bill. Had to hit the albuterol a few times.. And it was not the build/mock-up that got me going....it was the text. ? You probably forgot all about this. -
Love that color, Chuck. On my Tab A, it looks more like a dark yellow (maybe my display setting. ) I also enjoyed re-living my frantic, vulgarity-laced (for the neighbors' benefit) decal application experiences. Thank you very much. It's good to know that it's not just me. Will you be leaving those wheel wells white? I kinda like it ?. Hey, they paint firewalls white, don't they? It's kinda cool.

Nope. No good. Gotta do it again. And added a little detail to the trunk lid. It's rough but some clean-up and paint and It'll be fine ?.

The Hinman roadster, a study in rust update 1/18/23

Those wheels are the cat's pajamas, Bil. Nailed! Love the dented rim. Is it my imagination or is the dust cover dented? Very real. -
I really like your interior ideas. I think I'll go evergreen shopping. I reeeeeeeealy like those window cranks. I'll bet there's a big market for those ?. Good progress, Jim!

I should not have made light of dementia and, for the record,, I apologize to anyone who may have found it offensive. If anyone found it funny, SHAME ON YOU! ?. As far as building better models goes, I wish you the best. After I had mine done 5 or 6 years ago, I didn't notice any difference. I still build crappy models. I still have trouble driving at night. My floaters are much worse and my eyes are always filmy. I still need a lot of light and magnification to work on said crappy models. I hope you have better luck with yours. ? -
Thanks, kraM! May as well post these while I'm here, there's not a lot of progress. I need a good day to shoot this puppy and then I can bring it home. Nothing fancy inside but it wish I could remember what kit the seats came from. ?
-
Yes it does, yes it does...? today: gotta make trunk mat. Gonna snake some of the old woman's expensive paper stock, and her fancy glue and sticky stuff. ? That's all folks! ?

Very little progress on this one, I'm at a point where I just don't have a clear path. The dash is half-way painted. It requires 3 different paints and the foiling is extremely difficult to apply. There's a ton of detail but it's not completely accurate, leaving me with the slack to take up. If I had not cut the door, I wouldn't sweat the dash so much but with an opening door, I want it to look right. The work around the jamb is done as much as I can do it. It's not accurate because the interior panels were not. The front jamb lines were non-existent. I gaffed it as much as I care to. I'm. Considering cutting the trunk but the inside of this trunk is pretty bland. But... it is what it is. see what I mean? This is what I'm dealing with; trying to make it look half-way legit.

Can shuffleboard be played sitting down?? -
I don't use it much so it spends most of its life on the charger waiting for me to do something. When I do, I've never run it down and I have left it "off the hook" from time to time without any sign of losing power. I dearly love this tool and if it quits on me I will certainly buy another just like it (and bury the dead one with a memorial service ?)

I'm seeing that a lot these days. Could it be that Rustoleum brands have cut back on an important ingredient? You know, to cut cost? ? I seem to remember Krylon as a very fast drying paint. Maybe it's me, I dunno. ?
-
Tried to keep it "in era". Thanks, Riley. Is that Krylon "Pistachio"? ?

The first time I tried applying decals on tires the pessimism was almost overwhelming. But it worked quite well. It surprised me. ?. Yours look perfect, Jim, the whole thing is coming together really well.

I agree with Steve. I'm loving that quartet of 97s. Can't wait to see it in paint.

I just want to comment, Andy, on your door jamb construction. Adding .5mm before the jamb lip is a great idea . I wish I had been aware of this just a little earlier ( I wish I'd thought of it) The thickness of a coat of paint must not be ignored. I hope I remember this method the next time I open anything (but probably won't ?)

I love the smell of an old chevy burning oil in the morning. It's got that....that gasoline smell. ?

You are going to screw things up. I screw things up. WE ALL screw things up, Keefer. It's part of the deal. But you can succeed. My hands hurt all day long but when I'm chopping a top or cutting a door my mind is on the task; not on my pain. The idea is to keep busy doing what you love to do. You don't have to chop anything to build a nice model. But if you want to do that sort of thing, you are in good company here.( not me, of course, I mean the others like Steven. ? ) -

I told her it was inside the ashtray in the shadow. "Can't see it, but it's in there!" I said proudly. ? That ashtray is flippin' awesome, Steve, with or without the lighter. -

I just showed Steve's Bonneville dash to my wife. After she studied it, woefully, she says "he put a cigar in the ash tray?" I said" Yup! That steering wheel is the size of a dime! Look at that detail!" She says "I don't see the lighter. Where's the lighter?" This is coming from a woman who has never smoked in her life....I don't show her my stuff very often. ? -

I think we septagenarians should be exempt from using PE wire looms and adding carburetor linkage. Either of those two things could mean a stroke for us. If we could do some lobbying maybe we could force the PE industry to label their products. "Caution: Photo Etch parts may cause heart attack or stroke when handled by feeble droolers ? over 65 years of age" -

I don't see any smoke rising from that stogie in the open ashtray, Steve. You're slipping... and at only 60! ?
