  1. Great job! Really outstanding. I tried to build the Rutherford Gatorade when I was a kid and it defeated me. I tried again several years ago, and it almost defeated me again. These kits are certainly not for the faint of heart. You did a fantastic job.
  2. Mark, if your workspace isn't messy, you aren't doing anything. At least that is what I convince myself.
  3. When I was young, my parents worked many weekends and my sister and I stayed with a great aunt and great uncle. Most of these weekends, they provided me with a model car to build. I don't remember much about the kits other than they were built unpainted. A number of them had the bodies in multiple pieces. I am also sure that these were the gluiest of glue bombs. I remember these times fondly now that I am much older. I know I should have shown more gratitude when I was young, but being a typical sniveling little kid, I did not.
  4. Mark J did an outstanding job building one of these kits. Within his build is a computer generated video on how the systems on these cars work. Here is the link.
  5. Great work. I remember fondly how understated the paint schemes were back in the day.
  6. Thanks for the tips, Mark. I will keep them in mind when I build the kit.
  7. Thank you, Donato. I appreciate it.
  8. Great looking squadron of fighters. Really impressive!
  9. Great work. Another timeless paint scheme.
  10. Great looking model. I sometimes wonder the same thing about Tim and how his career would have been and how the history books would be different. After seeing the ESPN show about his life, I wonder if the old guard in NASCAR would have run him out. Richard Petty seemed to detest him and France, Jr. did not know what to do until Tim got sick, and then they turned on him with a vengeance.
  11. Great work on both! A very cool and timeless paint scheme.
  12. I do appreciate all of those who took time to comment on the model and those who hit the like button. I apologize for the time it took to respond to everybody. I have been away from the site for a few weeks attending to other pressing issues that put the hobby stuff on the back burner.
  13. Thank you, Mark. I followed some of your processes on your Tony Stewart build. I still have several of the Chevies and a few Fords. They are fun, simple kits. I wish the Chase Elliott kit could have been produced in larger quantities. You are correct about the price of the current kits. They are high. I have a few of the Salvino kits and will try one soon. I hear they are not for the faint of heart, but will give it a go.
  14. Thank you, Jeff. Much appreciated.
  15. Thank you for the kind words Carl. I appreciate it.
  16. Thank you, Anton. I appreciate it.
  17. Wow that is stunning - absolutely stunning!
  18. Looks very good. It's a rather difficult paint scheme. I botched the paint on this one a long time ago, and it sits in its box waiting to be stripped and repainted.
  19. Thanks for the kind words John. I appreciate it.
  20. This is the first model I have built in about 3 - 4 years. It is amazing how the skills get rusty and the knowledge is slow to come back after a hiatus. It is Revell's modified snap kit. I used Mark J's method to flare out the side skits. I lowered the stance as the car was sitting too high, but other than that it's built box stock. The paint is Dupli Color and the decals are from Ace. Thanks for looking.
  21. Great job Steve! I agree with Joe - I had to do a double take as well.
