  1. Great looking model! I built this one a number of years ago and remember that the decal work was daunting.

  8. Great restoration! You did a fantastic job.
  9. Looks spectacular! I really like the colors you selected.
  10. Very nice build. I always had a soft spot for this car. If Pontiac had put the good performance stuff in the car earlier, it may have had a longer production run.
  11. Thank you Scott. I appreciate it.
  12. Great work! Really stellar. Harvick and Childers were an incredible combination.
  13. When our two kids were in high school, my wife and I sat them down and told them that when they graduated, they were either going to college or to the local technical school. We further told them that if they went to college, they were going to get degrees where they would get good paying jobs. Our daughter earned a degree in economics with a minor in mathematics and works in an actuarial department at an annuity / life insurance company. Our son earned dual degrees in psychology and criminal justice and is a detective in a police department about an hour from where we live. My apologies if this comes across as boastful. The reason we took this approach with our kids is that too many adults who should have known better were feeding the nonsense that if you do what you love, you will not work a day in your life. The universities were parroting this too. In my opinion, these schools should be sued for fraud, and whatever settlements that come out of this, should be paid out of the endowment. It's truly sad what a bunch of nit wit adults did to a large swath of a generation of kids.
  14. Pete, I have not heard of this until recently, so it is likely a new way of thinking. The issue isn't about damaged cars, but to offer a possible avenue of escape. Time will tell if there is any merit behind this or not.
  15. Thank you Mike. That generation of planes the F-4, F-14, F-15 and F-16 really captured my imagination. I was at an airshow in the 90's and there was a flight demonstration of an F-15 and a MiG 29. The F-15 went first and the maintenance guys for the MiG watched and just shook their heads a lot. They knew who had the best plane.
  16. Thank you Bill. I loved the Phantoms too. When the military made the missiles more reliable, put a gun on the plane and taught the the pilots / aviators dogfighting skills, everybody got to see what an absolute beast that plane was.
  17. Thank you Joe. I appreciate it. Back in the day when I built aircraft regularly, I preferred 1/48 scale. But, I don't really have the space for the larger models. Working in 1/72 really wasn't that bad. The decal work was exceptionally tedious, and this is where the smaller scale came into play. A number of the decals cannot be read, so it's like why bother, but I trudged on.
  18. Thank you for the kind words Jim. I appreciate it.
  19. Looks great Bruce. The color really pops.
  20. Thank you Matt. The tires tucked into the wheel wells nicely. I was a bit surprised.
  21. Thank you Larry. I appreciate it.
  22. Alan, I might have an explanation for the gap between the cars. People are being advised to leave more of a gap between their car and the car in front. The reason for this is that if there is an attempted carjacking, the person has room to escape. You are correct that this does not help when the light is not calibrated for this kind of a gap, but people have to protect themselves as best they can.
