Very, very nice! Everything about this build is spot-on! Your excellent craftsmanship shows, too; well done!

A beautiful build of an awesome subject! What scale is this little monster?
-
Lovely builds, both of them! Just by looking at each, I can "sense" the challenges faced when building each one. On the X-1, did you also use the intake manifold from the GS Corvette kit?

1966 Chevelle SS...My first completed build of 2016
'70 Grande replied to tyrone's topic in Model Cars
Beautiful build! Just like I remember them from back-in-the-day! More bonus points for cleanly removing the large bumper guards from both the front and rear bumpers; I think that modification greatly-improves the overall look of these Chevelles! -
For your 2nd build ever, I'd say you did great! This is a tough little kit to get together well; it does have some fit issues and takes modifications to get it right. I'd say you did a first-class job of it; congrats! Now, what's your 3rd build gonna be?

Time for the final inspection !! 2015 build from Mangodart

All great looking builds! The Gremmy Snowplow actually made me belly-laugh; its very creative and looks really good, especially in front of the palm trees! -
Other than the Moebius-provided build shown at some of the model shows last year, this is the very first built-up that I have seen of this new kit! And, your build looks stunning, Al! A great color combination that is near the top of my list of favorite paint schemes for this car! Thanks for posting it and telling us it was a joy to build; now I've got to get mine ordered!

What a beauty; I think its the finest looking '64 Galaxie build that I have seen in over 30 years of car modeling! Did you add clear lenses to those 4 headlights or treat the chrome somehow to make them look more realistic?
-
That explains it, thanks Mike!

That chrome tree photo makes me curious. It looks like it has 2 carbs and the 2-carb intake manifold, too. But I don't see an air cleaner anywhere on the tree, so what kind of air cleaner would go over that dual-carb set-up? (I realize that this dual-carb set-up is not a factory stock set-up but a custom option found inside this kit).

I hope they put the fender flares and the rear side-window louver pieces into this reissue like they had in the "Fuzz Duster" release!
-
I've always loved the look/paint scheme of this particular car; your build of it looks great!
-
This is an excellent build with a great "tutorial" aspect to it! Thanks for sharing your build-techniques here! You could resin cast a whole bunch of those great looking knock-offs and I'd bet they'd sell like little hotcakes!
-
Beautiful build! Your chassis/paint work looks outstanding! Do you have any in-progress build pics?
-
Sure hope both of these reissues include the separate flared-fender body pieces and the Volare also has the 2 louvered quarter-window pieces! Maybe they'd just have to open-up some gates on the molds to make this happen.
-
Wow! A beautiful build with very impressive body and paintwork! The first thought that came to my head upon seeing your first few pics was that it was a nicely done "custom" Bug. Then, after seeing the remaining pics, I could only think, this is a wolf in sheep's clothing!

Next release of Revell '70 Cuda; any update information?
'70 Grande replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Unclescott58, Well, for starters, I know that I never claimed to hate this kit! Its just that I've always wanted a well-done '70 AAR Cuda, (as far as I'm concerned, the AAR was the "star" of the '70 E-body lineup; yes, the Hemi has more bang-for-the-buck, but the AAR is an example of small-block automotive perfection, IMHO). -
Next release of Revell '70 Cuda; any update information?
'70 Grande replied to '70 Grande's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
From going through the 23 pages of the first post here regarding the initial release of this kit, I understood that the first release hit the retail shelves in late November of 2014. At least that's when several forum members first posted about getting their hands on one! I could easily be mistaken, but the point of this post isn't really "when" this kit first came out, but that it seems like there has been very, very little discussion about the next version of it for a long time. Does anybody have any updates about what might be coming next from this tool... and when? -
Bill, Excellent weathering work and worn-looking details! I really like that Green paint color that you used on this build; any idea what paint brand and color you used?

Possible 1968-70 AMX from Moebius?
'70 Grande replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I wonder if that "Breedlove Roof Spoiler" made for any aero or traction-advantage? I seem to remember that Craig Breedlove was an Engineer of some sort, (Mechanical?), but that spoiler design just looks like a bolt-on to enhance(?) the overall look of the car; not really providing any kind of performance enhancements. And I agree, Greg, a Javelin kit is long overdue! -
1/25 Lindberg '66 Chevelle Super Sport
'70 Grande replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Tom, I'm building mine with a different set of resin Keystone wheels because I, like you, don't really care for the factory-stock mag wheel covers found inside the kit. I also removed the bumper guards from both bumpers because I don't like the look of those either. I'll try to post a pic of them sometime soon. -
I really like this build! Paint colors, detailing; everything looks very good! I actually like the way you handled the hood/roof/deck lid stripe better than that striping as done on the 1:1 Baldwin/Motion cars. I've hesitated finishing my own 1/25 B/M '70 Camaro because I could never resolve that 1:1 stripe design; now I think I'll steal your stripe design and use it on my own 1/25 build!
