  1. A beautiful, beautiful build! The subject-matter alone is outstanding and your execution is excellent! This one deserves to have more pics posted; can you show us some engine pics as we'd love to see more!
  2. Jantrix, If you feel like the AMT/Ertl Plymouth Duster's 340 engine is too small overall, then I'm afraid you'll be disappointed with the 355 engine from this Cushman kit, too. I have read several forum posts and some kit reviews that state that this 355 engine is on the small-side, too. My best suggestion for you; take a good look at Bob's 4th picture in his very first post here. My thoughts; I'd hafta agree, this 355 engine looks a tad small to my eye, too. (But I'll still be building this kit because the subject matter is just so good!)
  3. I forgot to add to my previous post; this build of yours looks really good, especially after you weathered her up a little bit.
  4. Bob, That was me who posted a few months ago that I felt like the front tires on the Petty car stuck-out too far from underneath the front fenders. I realize that the front track-width on most all of the dirt track cars of this era was pretty wide, (I spent a lot of time at my local dirt track watching even these Chrysler Kit Cars throw some dirt back in the early/mid-1970's), but I'll still be modifying my build to narrow-down that front track-width and pull those front tires underneath the fenders more; to my eyes, it just looks better that way.
  5. Wasn't this kit once issued with 4 fender flare pieces? I don't see any reference to fender flares in the instruction sheet.
  6. Beautiful, beautiful build! Your paintwork looks outstanding! Nomads are one of my favorite cars from the 1950's; you've motivated me to get out my started kit for this '56 Nomad and get it done!
  7. I sure would like to get this upcoming reissued kit and build it as a Super Coupe, but I think that would turn into a fairly-major conversion project. From what I can tell, I'd need to replace the front bumper/grill/headlights piece for certain, and probably many of the interior pieces. Weren't the 1:1 Super Coupes only built in the 1978 model-year? Any Mopar experts out there that provide some insights as to what'd need to be done to this upcoming reissue for conversion into a decent Super Coupe replica model?
  8. Wow! I think that's all I can say... "WOW!"
  9. Really, really nice! Your paint and detail work is exceptional! It's not hard to imagine this as a 1:1 sitting at the Christmas Tree, waiting to launch!
  10. Wow! Everything about this build is first-rate! I'm looking forward to seeing it cross the finish-line!
  11. In my opinion, the best-looking automotive design of the 1960's! The first Rivs were the finest of the decade, and the top-chop also suits it well! Nice job!
  12. Very, very nice! Everything about this build is spot-on! Your excellent craftsmanship shows, too; well done!
  13. A beautiful build of an awesome subject! What scale is this little monster?
  14. Lovely builds, both of them! Just by looking at each, I can "sense" the challenges faced when building each one. On the X-1, did you also use the intake manifold from the GS Corvette kit?
  15. Beautiful build! Just like I remember them from back-in-the-day! More bonus points for cleanly removing the large bumper guards from both the front and rear bumpers; I think that modification greatly-improves the overall look of these Chevelles!
  16. For your 2nd build ever, I'd say you did great! This is a tough little kit to get together well; it does have some fit issues and takes modifications to get it right. I'd say you did a first-class job of it; congrats! Now, what's your 3rd build gonna be?
  17. All great looking builds! The Gremmy Snowplow actually made me belly-laugh; its very creative and looks really good, especially in front of the palm trees!
  18. Other than the Moebius-provided build shown at some of the model shows last year, this is the very first built-up that I have seen of this new kit! And, your build looks stunning, Al! A great color combination that is near the top of my list of favorite paint schemes for this car! Thanks for posting it and telling us it was a joy to build; now I've got to get mine ordered!
  19. What a beauty; I think its the finest looking '64 Galaxie build that I have seen in over 30 years of car modeling! Did you add clear lenses to those 4 headlights or treat the chrome somehow to make them look more realistic?
  20. I think the main reason the parts won't fit back inside the kit's box is because they wanna be built... right away! So forget about repacking 'em, start painting, gluing and assembling them instead! And post some pics as you build, too!
  21. That explains it, thanks Mike!
  22. That chrome tree photo makes me curious. It looks like it has 2 carbs and the 2-carb intake manifold, too. But I don't see an air cleaner anywhere on the tree, so what kind of air cleaner would go over that dual-carb set-up? (I realize that this dual-carb set-up is not a factory stock set-up but a custom option found inside this kit).
  23. I hope they put the fender flares and the rear side-window louver pieces into this reissue like they had in the "Fuzz Duster" release!
  24. I've always loved the look/paint scheme of this particular car; your build of it looks great!
  25. This is an excellent build with a great "tutorial" aspect to it! Thanks for sharing your build-techniques here! You could resin cast a whole bunch of those great looking knock-offs and I'd bet they'd sell like little hotcakes!
