Revell Ford F150 Harley Davidson edition
Daddyfink replied to 57peppershaker's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
My LHS at the time of release only ordered two of them and I only bought one. Should have grabbed them both! It would be nice to get the bike back, would be a nice extra for other kits or dioramas. -

Round 2 January 2017 Product Spotlight
Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
One of the biggest problems with it was that folks where using light bird shot loads with not enough power to cycle the weapon properly. Either way, it is a pretty wicked piece. So back to models! I am looking forward to the re-release of the Hasegawa Datsun Rally Cars. I only managed a couple when they first came out and I would like to get a couple more of them. -

I remember watching the Pilot Episode with my Uncle and I was totally hooked! The following year they showed it on Mexican Television and dubbed in Spanish, it was not the same. But luckily we received all the U.S. channels while living in Tijuana, Mexico We where back in the USA when Hunter came on. Loved that show and I always wanted a SPAS 12 shotgun because of it! -

Was/is Starsky and Hutch popular in Europe? I am sure they are just going to push it through as is, sadly, and not change anything. But there is hope for white plastic. -

Round 2 January 2017 Product Spotlight
Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
So, how many more of these do I need to buy before I get a new tool or a vintage tool gets repaired? If somebody would only buy my re-issues from my model table, at only $5 bucks, I would buy the latest issue! -

Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I am not telling you not to buy anything and just like everyone else, I have the right to my opinions and points of view. I get a kick of those trying to dismiss someone for stating an opinion. It is not about putting kits down, it is about expressing disappointment about releases that are repetitive and the lack of new product. And yes, I spend my money where I see fit and move on when I don't want it. You want to buy it? Help yourself! I could care less what you like. -

Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Funny, most of the folks on here where commenting on how they are going to save money on not buying any of this stuff, I make a comment about the same old re-issues and the board goes nuts, but, there are still more folks who are not going to buy any of this stuff. Just an observation. Yup, Round 2 sure know what they are doing. -
Wow, I have been thinking of getting one and this convinced me to do it! Great build of a vintage kit!!

Round 2 January 2017 Product Spotlight
Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I don't see them on the discount shelf that much due to the fact that the discount shelves are quickly disappearing, I.E. LHS closings, but some of the large sellers, Hobby Lobby, Hobby People and such do put them up for clearance quite often. My main point was that I am only able to get so many re-issues before I no longer want any. Some I didn't purchase when they first re-issued them and I highly doubt I would buy them now. -
Round 2 January 2017 Product Spotlight
Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
I know they are making only a few kits of newer cars, but, seeing that at one time they made some of the most desirable kits around, and then lost them to retooling, wouldn't it make sense to bring them back? If they can invest in new tooling on kits that will soon be on the discount bin, because honestly, how many stock Camaros can you build, why not invest in more vintage style kits. Moebius is proving that there is a market for such kits and is doing them. And if I am going to pay that kind of money, it should not be on a re-issue that did not require a tool repair. -
Round 2 January 2017 Product Spotlight
Daddyfink replied to MrObsessive's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
So, is AMT/MPC ever going to cut new kits? I know AMT is doing newer Vettes and Camaros, boring, but what about vintage type stuff? Re-issues are great, but, quite a few of them are repeats that didn't even do well the first time around. Just hoping I guess. -
Terrible Kits You Love!

All of the Revel 70's Dragsters! I love them, but, they are a pain to build with all the tiny and very fragile parts. The Frames just keep getting worse and worse after all the re-issues! -

Wow, absolutely nothing. Those Barris kits are still easy to find from the last issue. I guess they are trying to cash in on anything with his name while they can. -
No, they are about right for the time period of the car. One must remember that Dragsters and equipment evolved rather quickly in the 60's

Don't ask me why, but the "Mother Cherry Pie" kit is one of my all time favorites. I have probably never finished one, but, I think I own like three of them! Madness I tell you! LOL! -
