  1. Fremont Racing Specialties, mmmhhh, same as Joe Curtis?
  2. Very nicely done! Great detail on a very cool kit
  3. I like it!
  4. I was wondering how long it would take for someone to bring up E.J. Potter
  5. Looks very period correct! Nice job!
  6. I wish Revell would bring back those Drag Bikes, I really want one! Or two, or three........
  7. Very nice! Great way to show the potential of that kit!
  8. Hearing it in person was pretty cool since he could add more "color" commentary to it!
  9. Some quick search around here will yield most of the stories about Auroras train wreck and existing tools. Bottome line, I highly doubt that Aurora will come back as most of its niche market items have been brought back by other companies, either as repaired existing tooling or new tools. Put a fork in this one, folks, it is done!
  10. I only want one because it is a show rod. Otherwise, not really that cool to me
  11. I had that Spit a long time ago! Along with the SBD!! Cool kits!
  12. Most shows should have an "Import" section that is all encompassing regardless of the style or country of origin for "Street" style vehicles. Competition has their own classes where they can go if they qualify for it. Most of the time they get shoved into Street Machine or Curbside Plus, due to the fact that most of import kits do not have engines and sometimes no real suspension. And we try to have judges who are aware of such cars to judge them to be as fair as possible. Some have complained that they did not place because they where import cars and that Muscle Car types judged them. Well, most of them don't place because they are not well built. It is a harsh fact, but, skills do count, regardless of the type of build. And on the flip side of that, we had a guy with a Camaro that cried bloody murder because a "foreign piece of you know what" placed and his Camaro did not. Well, his car was not very well built and just the fact that a well built Skyline GTR beat him was enough for him to swear us off. I hope that the import crowd can really get to building them proper and start filling the tables, would be cool to see. Once the low riders guys where the black sheep on the table, some had not yet developed the skills to make them show stoppers, but, that has changed pretty good over the years. Bring one, bring them all!
  13. Thank you!
  14. Here is the list from this weekends Hot Rod Reunion Twilight Memorial of folks who have passed since last years reunion.
  15. How large is the iron on?
  16. I have plenty of serious kits in my collection, but, there is always room for my childhood. Yeah, I am still a big kid with kits! As advertised before, don't like it? Don't buy it! And for the why? Because there is either a demand or this may be one of the few tools that still work with little dough.
  17. Wow, that looks really cool! A regular Revell Chassis with the basic 426 should do the trick!
  18. I painted mine orange after the restored car images. It is sitting in its box, I doubt anyone can tell!
  19. Wow, we where just talking about him yesterday at the Hot Rod Reunion. I guess his heart just couldn't hang on anymore. Vaya Con Dios, Blue Max!
  20. I like wacky show rods. Had fun with them when I was a kid, so yes, it is mostly a nostalgia thing for me and they are not for everyone.
  21. I like the MPC flip nose kits, mainly because I thought they where really cool back when I was a kid, but they do build nicely when you take your time with them. Yes, they are finicky and not all that great fitting, but, they look ok when done.
  22. Took a look at my Cosmic Charger kit and the chassis is basically the same, but, it is only half the chassis! The front section is just like the YM car, but the back half of the chassis are separate pieces that are part of the interior tin. This is not just basically the YM car with a different body. Hope they still can release it again!
  23. This a really cool build! Nice work!
