  1. I just recently asked my LHS why the price difference, the kit was the new Mustang with the 007 branding, between the Euro issue, at an eye watering $60 dollars, and the same kit in the U.S. box at $29 dollars. She claimed it was because the Euro version came with paint and glue! I laughed, she laughed, the owner frowned! Someone had just bought the ST Pizza Van in the Euro box for about $70!
  2. My LHS finally got some. It seems that some stuff is running late to the west coast, or at least my LHS! LOL!
  3. Eric Clapton built models during his "Rehab" period and apparently picked up the hobby.
  4. Check out Chimneyville decals. I think they reproduced a few of the early decal sets.
  5. Correct, I should have used Niche instead of Cottage. And I did not think about all the stuff they make, other than model kits, and they are still a U.S. company.
  6. You have to keep in mind that almost every foreign kit maker is going for a foreign market that is not the U.S. Selling kits here is a bonus for them, but not their primary market. Companies like Hasegawa have to make kits that appeal worldwide and not just to their home market, like American kit makers. Foreign kit makers also have a much bigger production and funding system than U.S. kit makers, with the exception of Revell of Germany, R2 is more of a cottage industry now that mainly tries to cater to us here in the U.S. R2 resurrecting certain vintage kits with some slight upgrades does not even compare to a new kit from Hasegawa. They upgrade as best as they can when items are replaced, but they are still vintage kits. And the Barracuda still has the metal axles. But at least the pans are a bit more detailed with more separate parts you don't have to grind off.
  7. Well yes, that is a totally different deal. But how many here are buying or asking for foreign kits? I like them, you like them, but who else? Most of the talk here is American cars and American kit makers.
  8. Well, we are not really talking about foreign kit makers. Or where we?
  9. I think the "We want the old stuff back" crowd is drowning out the "We want something new" crowd. And when we do get something new, they will complain that is not some new version of an old kit!! And then we get the "What would you like to see" threads where folks ask for the same stuff, over and over again. It just cycles again, over and over.
  10. Add the MPC Hemi Under Glass chassis to that 65 to make a correct Plymouth Dealers Funny Car!
  11. I remember folks buying this kit just to stuff the chassis under the Monogram 59 Impala! It fit pretty good from what I remember.
  12. Kit show today! Picked up a couple of kits for a good deal. Always wanted a first issue Smokey kit, and here it is! just the engine halves and wheels have been assembled, otherwise pretty minty.
  13. I received my Scale Motorsports Wynn's decals for the Ford GT, but, I did not have a Ford GT! So ordered from Amazon, it was on $20! But, they made sure the box did not make it intact by packing it in a shipping bag!! Sides are squished and there is a tear in the front right about where someone's thumb would be if they grabbed it, because that is exactly what I found out when I grabbed it! So yes, I paid a good price, but, the box is junk! Oh well.
  14. They didn't even have those anymore either. Oh well, I should have picked up an extra paint stand when they had them.
  15. Did they drop the Tamiya tool stuff? I went this past weekend and did not see any Tamiya stuff in the tool section.
  16. It has the CSX number, unless the guy is doing a deep fake, it looks real to me.
  17. Cool! I just ordered from Hobby World USA. It just seemed easier! Glad I saw the post.
  18. Oh boy! Just three more days!!

  20. Yes, but it has been done. Although not correctly, as you stated. Time for a different scheme.
