Very cool build! I have the mortal remains of a Super Hemi somewhere, I should dig it up and slap it together sometime.

One store near me seems to have restocked with an even bigger kit display! I really don't see them putting them on clearance anytime soon around here. -
Probably had it restored and shipped back to Japan for their shop over there. There is a shop north of me here in San Diego that handled high end Datsun restorations and I think it went through that shop. He had a couple of them in the shop at one time, but they didn't disclose who the owners where. I might ask them before they move out of the state early next year.

The original Parts Pack chassis had what are basically the decals that are in the kit now, but, the Double Kit had the ones with the Revell logo, and some sponsors, on them. I am sure Atlantis does not want to promote another model company or pay royalties.

Bummer that the Revell Bantam body has been lost. But, most Drag Resin casters casted it and that is one alternative so you can build this! Hopefully they will release the Fiat with Chassis

Picked up the Moon Drag kit from Mooneyes at the Irwindale Nitro Revival yesterday. And had Chico Kodama of Mooneyes tag it for me! And, i think know what to do with a Ramp Truck Kit

You can make a Profit
Daddyfink replied to Boss31's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I have been offered money for some of my builds, and after I am done laughing, I can't believe someone would give me money for my junk! And yes, sometimes it is only a few bucks, but hey, I rather have a few bucks than a forgotten build in a box somewhere! I know that some build professionally and get top bucks for their talent, and I am not knocking that, but some out there think that they must get every nickel back on their builds. And that is like expecting to get money back after eating a hamburger you ordered. You paid for it, made it, ate it and done! Same with models for me, but if someone is willing to give me a few shekels for it, bonus! Too bad the poster read things wrong and ran for the hills Well, bye -

Is it just me, or do those boxes look really Square?

Mag wheels can, and are, polished most of the time, and it was not uncommon back in the 60's to polish them for that show car look. After all, they did used to present Best Appearing awards at the drags. So they can be stripped and grayed out, or just left chrome for that polished look.

Very nice build, and that color just transported me back to when I was a little kid and my Uncle painted his '66 Mustang a very similar Metallic Blue color!

Well....not really. The artist must not know that he placed two injection units on top of his supercharger This... Doesn't go on top of of this.... And that the kit comes with this... I know, Nit Picky, but, it drives us Drag guys nuts to see this

I have one and I wish someone made better rims and tires for this kit. Might have to raid some Japanese kits for that. And oh yeah, the lack of a chin scoop opening is rather odd.

Design Pitch: MPC Retro "Forever 80s" collection
Daddyfink replied to Stef's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Yes it does! I was surprised when they pulled those parts out from the last re-issues. And it also had some of the best off road tires at the time. Here is a better pic of it, but as you can see, the monster truck trend was begging to creep in with the addition of the 1/20th scale wheels and tires! -

I agree, but I would love to see this version again! I have one in the stash, but another one for building would be great!
