  1. I just wish that Revell would have tooled up a different body for these kits. You can only build so many Vega, Charger, Demon or Grand Am bodied cars. A Camaro, Cuda or Mustang would have been nice, and they had their shot when they did the 1/25 Blue Max Mustang back in 1999! And the problem with their bodies is that they are early versions and their windshields sit too far forward. Their 1/16th scale stuff is a niche market, but a very dedicated niche market. I collect large scale and have bought all their 1/16th scale drag cars. I am only missing the Mongoose Navy car.
  2. The issue with the '57 Funny is that it is a '57 funny! Only a couple of folks had that body, and only McEwen was the big name that ran it. Otherwise, it is a chassis donor type kit. I only see folks who missed out on the last issue getting it. I know I'm not, as I already have a few and have yet to finish even one! And yes, I think the Green Elephant is selling mostly for the new decals and then secondary would be the scale. The Jungle Jim will sell at first, and again, for most of us 1/16th types, as a donor kit for different decals.
  3. I started building one of these Mongoose funny cars when it came out, back in 1989! And have yet to finish it! LOL!
  4. Not likely on the Nancy kits, as one car had a Buick and the other a Plymouth Wedge.
  5. Very nice build! Thanks for the link Yes, the 49'er is a very simple little kit, but it is a missing link the in the Drag Racing Model kit collection for many of us, and it will be nice to finally have one for way less than ebill prices.
  6. The Right Hand Lever is for the Chute and the Left Hand Lever is for the Brake
  7. As Ace and I said, they are totally different kits Pics from the web
  8. This is getting nuts for not good reason
  9. And don't forget this one from not that long ago...
  10. Well, I'll tell you this, you are good at creating drama! Bravo! I'll call Andy's tomorrow and ask a few questions, will let you know what kind of Drama goes down.
  11. The Revell Pie Crust Slicks I think where last issued in the Ms. Deal funny car, hopefully they use them again! Please, no two piece tires!!
  12. Hey! I resemble that remark!
  13. "He knows EXACTLY what he bought down to the last box" How do you know this? Andy is the real deal, he is not a BS artist, but he is a good business man. And how is it creating fake drama? By opening boxes and showing you what is in it? DRAMA RAMA! Creating Drama would be by placing all the good stuff in the boxes that are opened all time, not one good one and then Swap Meet fodder. I love the "He Takes Care of His Buddies" comments. Andy takes care of his customers, and yes, the best customers get a better shot at it, because they buy. Spending money vs. griping, Money wins.
  14. We know what is in the box, they could have just sold it in a plain brown box or plastic bag, we would still buy it. They made a crappy box art and we called it out, now the world is going to end! Boo hoo! Given todays technology, they could have done better. And yes, Model King proved we will buy the kits despite the bad box art! I have an original, so I am fine, I will just junk the box and re-use my original. Plus that saves space!
  15. Hobby Shop said they where on the water....
  16. Yes, because even Palmer made better box art!
  17. A definite buy for me! Plus, it matches this....
  18. I am just amazed at the Grandstands being behind the starting line and that they go all the way to Arrow Hwy! Being a bit harsh on the art is not good, but come on, at least I am not complaining about the kit!
  19. Most of us know how the kit is, and some of us have the original already, and most of us will buy it again. Atlantis has done a great job resurrecting some vintage kits, we just wish they would resurrect great box art as well.
  20. Do they not have access to the internet for some research on what things looked like back then? At Pomona
