  1. Here is the body foiled, hood painted (not yet polished) and chassis partially painted: let me know what you think.
  2. Thanks Chris and Carl, I didn't get to take the pics outside due to bad weather but i did get some sun today so I got the hood and chassis painted. I will post some more pics as soon as I can...
  3. Here it is with paint: i had to alter the leaf springs to move the rear axle forward a tiny bit so the rear wheels were more centered in the arches. Ignore the "1958" on the plate holder it will be covered with a licence plate. Engine bay will work nicely, i will just make a filler panel to go around the edges. after fiddling with the wheels i got them where i want them. The paint work looks much better outside so there will be new pics tomorrow. Let me know what you think.
  4. I got this resin body from eBay and I had an AMT 71 duster minus the body so i decided to make it work and with a little trimming of the chassis: as you can see there was some filling to be done but there were only 3 air bubbles and were a quick fix so i was happy. also i wanted to have a engine so i opened the hood, not too spectacular as i fount the resin a bit harder to scribe so its a little rough (i will add a bit of material around the hood and sand it to shape to get a better fit). another good thing is i will get the nicely detailed duster chassis (although not quite accurate for a HQ but it does look good)
  5. This is an EGGstraordinary, sorry but its an EGGciting looking build. But seriously it looks pretty cool, Is that a 58 impala headlight bezel?
  6. Wow, its so shiny and those colours are awesome. I like your part storage system, I may need to get something like this...
  7. It looks good with those wheels, are they from revels 58 impala?
  8. looking good, i like the colour.
  9. Cool project and those rims look great, are they going to be painted or chrome? I think they would look nice black with a chrome lip like this: Just a thought...
  10. Nice work, the chassis is looking perfect.
  11. I really like the colour and those rims are sweet.
  12. Wow, nice work on that interior and your paintwork is looking great.
  13. Thanks everyone Dominik - yes the b pillars are a bit thick but this was my first or second? attempt at making b pillars, I did notice they are a bit thick after finished painting the body but this came out a lot better than my 67 impala (the roof was rough on the 67) and at the risk of doing damage trying to alter them i just went with it, I appreciate your opinion and hopefully my next will be better. I have started another project and i will be working between these.
  14. It looks like you have a great project there Charlie, i am interested as to what you will do with it ...
  15. I know what its like to get bad paint work again and again and again.... almost every time something goes wrong with the hood for me... anyway the impala is looking great.
  16. I like your style, it looks very cool.
  17. I love seeing 4 doors, it looks great with the vinyl top, nice build
  18. very clean work, i like it...
  19. Another fantastic build Carl, the paint work is flawless.
  20. Very nice, I love the colour.
  21. Before: A bit of work and assistance from my parts box and... After: I had no grill or front bumper and it was missing quite a few bits, my parts box supplied almost all the missing pieces except the front bumper so that's scratch built and the grill is a modified part from AMT 58 impala custom grill. All comments welcome, let me know what you think.
  22. well i have a little progress: inside fenders painted black engine bay painted dash redone and steering wheel modified using a 70 impala and the 58 impala ones. all glass in (except front screen) I removed the hideous mold lines in the side of the bumper and re chromed it with BMF and swapped the white walls for a better set and gave the rims a fresh coat, i also drilled out the bolts and replaced them with pin heads which looks much better.
  23. There is a perfect set of those wheels in the Revell 70 Buick GSX, that's what I used on mine : There is also a set with the Fujimi Suzuki Jimny custom but I believe you have to use 2 kits to get a set of 4 (I think its because the rear wheel ones are different size) Hope this helps.
  24. Wow, the maroon and gold really work for it, real cool.
