  1. Great looking rig Danno, Love the old open cabs. Atleast in those days, everyone froze on the way back to the station on those cold winter runs
  2. Amtronic, Try this link http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2011/10/movie-real-steel-is-awesome-and-has.html There a re a couple of other pics of the truck..might help. brinx
  3. Well done! I especially like how you worked the sleeper into the utility body, that is really clever. I'm glad I saved all those sleepers from my day-cab projects
  4. Rich, Very nice. I like the color combo and your spot-on with the yellow for the engine. I also like your decal placement...first big-rig?....very well done. brinx
  5. First semi?.. you'd never now it...very nice job!!! those snap kits are really nice...I have about 10 Pete's in stock...figure if I buy enough..maybe the Michaels will start to carry the KW's (hope). brinx
  6. Great looking truck....those 1/25 snaps make a great canvas. nickle plated furniture nails........never thought of that...I gotta run down to the Lowes. brinx
  7. Mike , can't wait to see the completed "Annie"...bet she'll be the pride of your fleet. Keep us posted bro. brinx
  8. If only we had the finacial ability back then like we do now...sigh (remembers buying an AMT Alaskan Hauler at Woolworths b/c i had already bought all the other trucks they had).
  9. Barry, I think NASCAR would make an excellent subject as the possibilities are endless (both real and fake teams). I hope if you do go that way, you'll let those of us that only visit the truck forums...love to see what these kids come up with next. brinx
  10. I've seen some really great, professional models on this forum and i have to say, I find myself coming back and looking at he work done by these kids more than any other page. Barry, these kids have some real talent...I think your support and inspiration has opened up a new world to them! well done. brinx
  11. I don't really have room for it, but I would get one just to see what it is like...back in the day when they were origially issued...I didn''t have the money, but now, i would try one, just for the experience as well as to let the mfg's know....we're interested and we have the $$ now
  12. I would buy: The cornbinder "S" series trucks (I have several projects in mind when they do finally re-release those). I'd buy a few GMC General/Chevy Bisons....make great fleet trucks. The w-900 alaskan hauler kit.....originally, I didnt like that there was no chrome , now I realize how much time they were really saving me (prolly buy 3 of those). the pete cabover....that was one of the easiest kits I ever built as a kid...it went together so well. brinx
  13. Good looking trailer. Your engineering is pretty good for the tail-gate to be able to hold the car on it. I'd love to see more about that.
  14. Good looking rig! I especially like the body color for the fuel tanks, kinda tames down the chrome just enough to say classy, but hard working. Nice smooth paint work, love that green (the orange "CAT" looks sharp in contrast). Brinx
  15. Thanks for the tip and the link Rick. I watched both episodes of Movin' on today and an almost done with "In Tandem"! Lot of good shows on that site.
  16. The Great Smokey Mountain Road Block. Was a really nice made-for-TV movie.
  17. That looks good too. Is balsa a good wood for this or is there something better?
  18. Good looking trailer. I think I am going to try giving one of my T/M's the wood interior treatment. Thanks for the in-progress pics, really gives a good look at ways to detail. Brinx
  19. I really like that shade of yellow...looking good!
  20. Jim, the pics are there and they look good! Welcome back to the hobby!
  21. Didn't quite know what the deal was unless someone was going to market a new line of trucks called "MA" (or AM?). I know the bulldogs tend to disappear though. Incidentally, I do currently have a "husky" bolted to the front of my lawn tractor. She used to ride on the hood of my pick-up many years ago. (I always figured anybody could have a bulldog on their hood, but a husky....now that's different).
  22. I'm sure they must have atleast tried them out. There were a few examples of KW's, Macks even a cornbinder. on the topic of Hank's (hankstruckpictures.com), I have a question I will pose, although off topic of this thread. There was a picture of some Hall's Macks, there were three (the only three in the frame) that had the "M A" removed from the front of the hood, leaving only the "C K". It does appear to have been done on purpose. Any insight as to why this was done? http://www.hankstruckpictures.com/pix/truc...s_tractors4.jpg
  23. Here's another link: http://www.stlouisdumptrucks.com/convoy9-04b_003.htm Convoy is one of my top 3 movies of all time!
