  1. Thanks Charlie...glad you like my builds!
  2. Thanks guys...I'm looking forward to this build. Tony...I have had great luck with enamel paints, you just have to be a little more careful when applying. Tim......I didn't realize this paint was enamel until I looked at the pic that I had posted of the can. I had already painted the model thinking it was lacquer. I have used this colour before but it was lacquer not enamel so I assumed this was the same. Oh well, I applied it like it was lacquer and it turned okay.......I guess I didn't need to primer it first.
  3. After building my recently posted 1957 Ford Custom Tudor I have decided to go with another entry-level vehicle. This time I am going with the Revell 1957 Chevrolet 150 Utility Sedan. This will be one of those "no frills, maximum bang for the buck" vehicles. This build will sport the 283 Fuelie with blackwall tires and dog dish hubcaps....nothing fancy...bland but with performance or if you prefer, a sleeper! As with my '57 Ford this also will be one colour..no two-tone. I have already painted this one in Model Master factory colour "Tropical Turquoise" and it will have the standard gray interior. Stay tuned for more progress.
  4. Excellent work Sam! I really like the green exterior paint and especially your diorama!
  5. Thanks Troy and Andrew for the kind words!
  6. Thanks Bill, Zelkam and Tom. It was a pleasure to build.
  7. Thanks Skip. Not really any tips to speak of just a sharp blade and a steady hand followed by a light polishing right over the foil. That will take the black oxide off and really make the foil pop. I used Nu Finish Scratch Doctor.
  8. Thanks guys....it was an easy build with no issues to speak of coupled with the fact that I have been off work for two weeks on vacation made this build quick. I worked on it day and night.
  9. Thanks...I'm definitely interested in the '70 Cuda if it's accurate. I wished I still had my MPC 1970 Cuda from back when they were annual releases.
  10. Thanks John, Richard and Jeff! I'm going to do a Revell '57 Chevy 150 to go with this one.
  11. That's great news....how soon can we expect this release? I hope it's more accurate than the previous ones Revell did.
  12. Thanks Andre....good luck on yours!
  13. Thanks everyone for the great comments on this build. Brett....I didn't have to do anything to the suspension. That's the way it sits right out of the box. Is the '70 Cuda you are mentioning that is to be released later this year 1/25th scale?
  14. Well I finished this build off last night and was able to get the pictures taken outside. Revell did a very nice job on this one and got everything right to come up with a nice representation of the 1957 Ford Custom Tudor. I just need to add the year to the rear license plate and it's officially completed. Have a look and see what you think and thanks for following my topic.
  15. Thanks guys for the comments!...I should have this baby all finished up by later tonight and then I need to find a decent day outside to get some finished pics to post. It's sitting on my bench almost done and I really like the way it looks......kudos to Revell for a very nice representation of a '57 Ford Custom!
  16. I feel honored Dave. Thanks!
  17. I agree with you Dave. I built this kit in Platinum White back in August or September it was the nicest kit for fitting together that I have ever built and I have been building since 1964. Well worth getting!
  18. It's taking shape!
  19. Thanks Alan and Richard. This build is coming together quicker than I initially anticipated. Body is now on the chassis but there is still much to do.
  20. I guess I answered my own question. Check the link that Brett provided http://c-it.com/aminter-tbirds/315/index.htm It says at the top of the page that all customs came with rubber flooring...no carpet.
  21. I do believe this particular model of Ford came with the basic rubber flooring. That's why I left it black. Can anyone verify this or did I make another boo boo on this build?
  22. Thanks Carl and Brett. Thanks for that info Brett but I guess it is too late now to change things. Funny thing is, I was initially going to do the interior in gray!
  23. Thanks Erik and Wayne. Wayne...to tell you the truth I never gave that another thought. It's noticeable the way the light is hitting it. Under normal lighting it blends right into the black floor.
