  1. Thanks guys. I got looking at the front chin spoiler and I am going to remove it since it does not look right. Edge of spoiler should line up with the front edge of the wheel well opening. I guess because this spoiler was meant to fit the '73 Camaro body style and comes up a bit short for the "shovel nose" '74's. I have seen pics of the '74 Z28 without the the chin spoiler.
  2. Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.
  3. Three more pics.
  4. I have always wanted a 1974 Camaro Z28 in my collection but since one was never kitted I thought I would make up my own. Using the long discontinued AMT 1974 Camaro model kit which I bought off of ebay still in the original shrink wrap plus a set of Keith Marks decals as well as an AMT 1970 Camaro Z28 kit I used as a donor kit (used wheels, tires chin spoiler, air cleaner, valve covers and side mirrors from that kit). Rear spoiler was taken from a scrapped MPC 1980 Camaro Z28 as well as the front windshield since the one in the AMT kit was broken......rear window was still okay. I had to grind about 1/8th inch off of the bottom of the front chin spoiler with my dremel to bring it up to the look of the '74 Z28. Top of air cleaner was foiled with BMF. Model was painted in Model Master "Daytona Yellow" which closely replicates the factory colour "Bright Yellow" code 51 which is a slightly pale yellow like Daytona Yellow. Didn't turn out too bad considering the front end of the AMT kit is slightly off. Have a look and see what you think and thanks for checking her out.
  5. Looks like this one should present a challenge. Good luck with it. I'll be watching your progress.
  6. I removed the previous pics and added better ones. I think there was too much glare on the initial pics on here. Check the new ones out and thanks for looking.
  7. Thanks Scott.
  8. Thanks Ron and Dave I got the stock wheels all painted up and installed into the Firestone Supreme red walls. I cut the molded-in distributor off because I will be using this aftermarket pre-wired distributor.
  9. Thanks guys for all of the great comments on this build. Curtis I used Testors silver paint in the bottle for the tailight bezels.
  10. Thanks guys for all of your input. Well I got the primer and paint on this afternoon. Primer
  11. Three more pics.
  12. I used this kit to kick start me back into building since I had not built anything since January. I thought a nice curbside kit like this one would do the trick. Now that the Camaro is finished I can get to work on my original AMT 1969 Mustang which I found on ebay. Looking forward to that one.
  13. This kit includes two hoods, the shaker hood and the smooth stock hood. I decided to build it with the smooth stock hood because the air cleaner that would be used for the shaker hood is not included with the kit. Instead they have included the closed air cleaner.
  14. Yes this kit was expensive but I wanted one of these accurate '69 Stangs. I used to have two of these back in 69 when I was a kid and I think they were around two bucks a piece back then!
  15. Thanks Carl. The last build I did was in January when I built the '57 Chevy 150. I'm also working on a 2013 Camaro ZL1 as well.
  16. If you look at the instruction sheet you can see that the air cleaner is not the open top air cleaner that seats against the opening intake on the hood. The one included in the kit is a closed air cleaner.
  17. I picked up this original AMT 1969 Mustang on ebay for a handsome price. The kit was still in the original shrink wrap and looked pretty good for being in the box for 44 years......just like a time capsule. I wanted this kit for my Mustang collection because it was the only model of this car that was kitted accurately to my knowledge plus it is my favourite Mustang. For a change this model will be built without the Mach 1 version. Too many models of this car have all been built as Mach 1's. I think this will be a refreshing change...besides the engine included in the kit is not a Mach 1 engine anyway. At this point I will be painting the build in factory colour "Wimbledon White". They have also included the old Firestone tires with red walls on one side and white walls on the other side.....I will be using the red wall side. Stay tuned for more to come from this vintage build.
  18. Thanks Emmanuel and Dominik. Dominik......better get a 150 for your collection. It is a great kit to build with no issues.
  19. Thanks Zelkam, Derrick and Charlie. I would love to see Revell do a base model Plymouth.
  20. Great looking and very unique '58 Ford Richard!
  21. Thanks Ray! Both were fun builds.
  22. Thanks Jay and Kevin. Kevin it's true that Ford outsold the '57 Chevy that year but I'm not sure if it was 2:1
  23. Very nice indeed!
