  1. Instead of building a bunch of new models which space is beginning to get scarce....I thought I would fix up a few of my older builds and bring them up to my building standard of today. I did a bunch of rebuilds a few years ago and I liked the way they turned out. So this AMT 1971 Dodge Charger R/T is the first of many I will do over the winter. This one didn't need too much work but some other ones I have will require extensive rebuilding I foiled over the silver paint and added some Fireball Modelworks tire decals. Have a look at the before and after. Before After Before After
  2. Gerald....any progress to report?
  3. David...what's up with your build...no progress for a long time??
  4. Thanks Carl, Tony and Cesar.
  5. Thanks again everyone for the great comments on the 'Cuda's. Monty....all I used on the shaker hood was Testor's silver in the spray can and a coat of Testor's "wet look" glossscoat.
  6. Thanks guys. I appreciate all of these fine comments on this build!
  7. Thanks Bob. Well Barracuda number two finished. I enjoyed building both kits. Have a look and thanks or following this topic.
  8. Thanks guys and I'm glad everyone likes the tire decals. Well this build is finished but I'm waiting until tomorrow when it's light outside and I can get some complete pics. In the meantime I thought a quick glimpse of both my 'Cuda builds together would be cool. Better pics to come!
  9. I got the body on and the wheels installed tonight. I'm liking this one very much. I think these white lettered tire decals really dress the car up!
  10. Thanks Tommy. I'm hoping to have her finished by the weekend. Just put the body onto the chassis today.
  11. I like that black 'Cuda. Seen that pic when I was looking for reference pics for my own 'Cuda build. Should look fantastic when you get it finished. Just wondering if the 1/24th scale tires will look too big on a 1/25th scale car.
  12. Thanks John and David. I'm doing my '71 Charger now with tire decals.
  13. Thanks John and Carl. Carl...yes they are waterslide. Use a little decal setting solution and you can't see the decal film when they dry.
  14. Thanks Del and John. Here is a pic of my recent '70 'Cuda build in Limelight and my '70 Dodge Super Bee in Plum Crazy with the tire decals applied. Love them. This is the best thing since sliced bread was invented!
  15. Thanks David, Carl and Brett. Well my tire decals came today from Fireball Modelworks and boy do they sure dress up these generic tires. I was so impressed I put another order in today for 18 more sets to do other cars in my collection. Have a look and see what you think.
  16. Thanks guys. I spent half the day fussing with the taillights trying to get the paint in the right places. Pretty fine work doing these. Would have been better if Revell had included a transparent red lense to glue in. Anyway they are done as best as I can get them.
  17. Thanks Gerald and John. On this 'Cuda build I will be using the chrome bumpers front and back. I used the elastomeric body coloured bumpers on my last 'Cuda build. As with my previous Cuda build I cut the front license plate off for a cleaner looking front end. I used a small piece of foil on the underside of the bumper where I cut the plate off.
  18. Thanks John, Brett and Bob! Brett.....I just carefully cut the foil "free hand". It's really not that difficult to do but you will need a steady hand.
  19. Thanks Brett. Good luck with yours! Well I finished up the BMF today and was pleased at the way it came out. Used a little polish on the body to perk it up. This build is moving right along. Hope my white lettering tire decals come soon.
  20. I really like this colour combo. Thought I would share a couple of preview pics.
  21. Got a late start today on foiling so all I got done was the trim on all four wheel openings which is probably the hardest to do next to the rear cove trim around the back of the car. The rest I will finish tomorrow.
