  1. I have decided to go with the colour-keyed elastomeric bumpers for the clean aggressive look rather than the chrome bumpers. I need to wait for some decent weather before I can get them painted Lime Light.
  2. I can see what you mean David. The crease immediately above the wheel well on the left side rear deviates away from a straight line. I didn't even notice this until you mentioned it.
  3. Thanks guys! The kit does not include a bracket for the alternator. Doesn't look right sitting up in the air with nothing holding it there except a fan belt!
  4. Thanks Ray. Easier doing modeling when you don't have a pounding headache!
  5. Good luck with it David. Are you going to post your progress here on the boards?
  6. Got the 426 Hemi finished tonight. I had to make a bracket for the alternator.
  7. Thanks Chris. David.....I will be using the chrome bumpers.
  8. Thanks everyone for the great comment thus so far! . I am enjoying this build since I have always liked the 1970 Barracuda's. Carl I'm glad to be back building. Had to stop back in July because of debilitating headaches that plagued me for over three months. I had three builds on the go that still need to be finished when the headaches hit. Hopefully I will get them done over the winter.
  9. Thanks. I used Testors silver in the spray can and a generous coat of Testors wet look clear.
  10. Thanks for that info Al. I was kind of wondering myself why it was offset. Well I got a good start on the 426 Hemi. More to do though including wiring.
  11. Tail lights are molded all together with the chrome bezel and have to be painted red.
  12. Thanks everyone. I'm looking forward myself seeing what she looks like all finished.
  13. Everything is molded in white. I painted the grille and shaker hood.
  14. I picked up this new Revell release a few days ago and it looks to be a great kit. I think Revell got the lines and dimensions right this time. I'm no Mopar expert but it looks right to me. I decided to paint it in "Lime Light" (Plymouth) code J5 using Model Master "Sublime Green" (Dodge) code J5. Interior will be black to give it the aggressive look. Stay tuned for more.
  15. Outstanding looking for sure!
  16. Very nice indeed!
  17. Great looking Road Roadrunner Carl!
  18. Looks great Duane. I would like to build one myself. I have a Kodak Easy Share camera as well and it does have the macro setting. I leave my camera set on auto and on the top of the camera there is a button that will change the setting to macro. Check the top of the camera for this to see if your camera has it. Also, I never use the flash even when I shoot pics indoors for this will overexpose the pic.
  19. Great looking build Duane! Glad I could help out with the posting.
  20. Thanks guys. I got looking at the front chin spoiler and I am going to remove it since it does not look right. Edge of spoiler should line up with the front edge of the wheel well opening. I guess because this spoiler was meant to fit the '73 Camaro body style and comes up a bit short for the "shovel nose" '74's. I have seen pics of the '74 Z28 without the the chin spoiler.
  21. Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments.
  22. Three more pics.
  23. I have always wanted a 1974 Camaro Z28 in my collection but since one was never kitted I thought I would make up my own. Using the long discontinued AMT 1974 Camaro model kit which I bought off of ebay still in the original shrink wrap plus a set of Keith Marks decals as well as an AMT 1970 Camaro Z28 kit I used as a donor kit (used wheels, tires chin spoiler, air cleaner, valve covers and side mirrors from that kit). Rear spoiler was taken from a scrapped MPC 1980 Camaro Z28 as well as the front windshield since the one in the AMT kit was broken......rear window was still okay. I had to grind about 1/8th inch off of the bottom of the front chin spoiler with my dremel to bring it up to the look of the '74 Z28. Top of air cleaner was foiled with BMF. Model was painted in Model Master "Daytona Yellow" which closely replicates the factory colour "Bright Yellow" code 51 which is a slightly pale yellow like Daytona Yellow. Didn't turn out too bad considering the front end of the AMT kit is slightly off. Have a look and see what you think and thanks for checking her out.
  24. Looks like this one should present a challenge. Good luck with it. I'll be watching your progress.
