  1. Woo look at the price rise I forgot to bid on the floaters...arghhhhhhh!
  2. I had my jury duty 2 weeks ago! Take a book with you, or a laptop..and some snacks, Normally jury folks are allowed to eat in the waiting room. mention you know all about jury nullification, they wont like that
  3. That price is cheap..very few of these wheels are to be found for less than 75 bucks, like Eric says...it's just to much time invested into these. KFS has theres for around 100 bucks with nut and bolts, I think tires and a nut driver.
  4. Nick..lighten up, you take thing's way to seriously.
  5. The project isnt dead Just been a little busy casting and making some molds lately. I did weather the wheels a little more, some of the crust on the front wheels I will remove, just a little. I broke out some of my real rust powder to dust over them. Everything else is paint. My bolts came today from tichy train group, so now the project can progress further Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  6. You can read them when you aren't logged in because your settings for your user name aren't loaded yet
  7. There currently discontinued, because Ben here on the forums is re-mastering them, I'll keep you informed when they are ready to go
  8. Purple Pond is Super Clean automotive degreaser, or purple power degreaser (which is found at walmart for a few bucks cheaper than super clean)
  9. There are some CAD machinists who can read the sketchup files, like any other CAD rendering, not sure on the details on which programs can do it however, should pretty cool! I like your cab!.. I just wish for a cheap CAD machine....so many ideas for one of those machines. Though about making one with a dremel...but runout would be a problem I think for small stuff. I have a bunch of spare computers to compute the program..just need to buy the motors, which range from 50-200 dollars for small stuff.
  10. Wow thanks Chuck! Even has the budd 6 holes on it that I cast..sweet! The next one will be a retired tractor..so this comes in handy, thanks!
  11. I hit the print screen key on the keyboard, opened up MSpaint andpasted it there, and cropped out the sketchup, then just saved it as a jpeg file, and uploaded it to my photo hosting.
  12. Aaron Ive been using it on the C800 in the truck section. Printing has been a chore! some drawings scale ok on paper without touching the measurements at the print option screen, others have been really hard to scale to the proper size on paper. Having "use model extents" checked usually make the drawing come out ok however.
  13. The only thing I like about photobucket is there select all option for pictures, then you can copy multiple pics in one go, that's a nice option to have!
  14. I use a add-on in mozilla firefox called ad block plus. Whenever I don't like seeing pictures like those huge model of the month winners or sig pictures, I just right click the photo and block it, and I never see it again.
  15. I'll have an update in a few hours ..I got a little...sidetracked on the weekend..hehe Snow!? I cant wait till it hits here, first thing I'm doing is walking downtown with my camera to catch the most of snow over downtown
  16. Thanks for the update Aaron. Ive been trying to dig up FWD budd truck photos..but turned up empty aside from the same ones on the forums.
  17. At first they were red, but I painted over it with the teal. Started with a few shades of browns and a charcoal black. One reason I love using sponges and not brushes is for the texture you can get from multiple layers of paint. Hosted on Fotki Hosted on Fotki
  18. Finished my casts of the rear suspension and transfer case,, along with the wheels too. Fit like a glove! Now I can paint something..like these wheels.
  19. It's about time we get to see this puppy, thank's Ed! Awesome work on it...and that tank is just brilliant. There was a few c cabs running around here a few years ago with tanks on them, now they upgraded to detroit powered pete's I believe.
  20. Love that Consolidated double pup build...That is something I have planned next year.
  21. Thank's guys No scratch work at the moment, But I did modify the kit wheels to make them look better. I sanded down the backside of the wheel till it was flush with the mounting hole molded into the back of the wheel, I made a peg on my dremel to insert into it, to get me a pretty true setup to trim down the wheel., I took a louisville wheel, and took out the center, and used the sleeve for the new 5 spoke wheel. I flipped over one of those amt trim rings and glued it over the sleeve. Bought some resin bolt heads from Ma's Resin and drilled out and sanded the old ones, added the ones on the flange that bolt's to the brakes...and here we have it. Yes I could have bought these...but I really like making and casting my own when I can.....I desperately need a lathe.
  22. I seen a Ford C900 with a dump trailer..one was just on ebay, I forgot to bid on it. Not sure if it is a big rig set..but most definitely a set.
  23. Steaming Along.. I finished one side of the hopper and the bottom half where the conveyor sits. I added some scrap plastic to the inside to reinforce the channel, I will add a plate inside so it can look more full than it really is, when it comes time to add the sand/salt.
