  1. Being a east coaster..I LOVE the east coast look..channeled and/or sectioned with a non chop roof, awesome!
  2. Il add a bit of green to the rearend and then give everything a wash and call the chassis done.
  3. Quick build to get me in the groove! Using my weathering tutorial on the body (and a little bit of virgils also..soem salt here and there, small chips, and Virgils on the chassis. Everything is freshly painted..so no..color washes yet.
  4. Chop the top...just don't chop it so much..maybe a scale 2 inches or so.
  5. Right on Jody! That looks awesome..Il be following. Wish I had a basement myself too!
  6. The 1950 Ford F-1 from Revell has a ardun flathead setup with heads, intake and exhaust. Look for the newer box art, as this has the more accurate ardun heads and intake. Revell 48 ford convert 2n1, but this has motorcity flathead heads...dont think those were around in the late 50's early 60's. Does come with 3x2 intake. There is also the revell 32 ford sedan also.
  7. You will be fine Kevin.. They got a few immature know it all's there (some young kids too..who get pissed off at everyone also) hehe I lurk . but their are many good builders .
  8. The guy who painted those, I believe was from canada. He use to sell all those cars in the videos...one by one on ebay a few years ago, some fetching from 30 dollars upwards to 180ish (give or take). as for all the other comments.......er Il stay out of this one.
  9. Not enough are built to warrant their own section
  10. 1 case of revell 1941 willy's kits. 2 hemi cudas, 1 thunderbolt -drag version. 48 ford goodguys, 70 ford torino cobra, Yenko camaro, revell 29 ford rat rod -rpu. dodge 330 and a pro street 67 chevelle slot cars
  11. Bleed sweeps rule! (yes I hang at the JJ also.. That thing look's so friggin awesome, Don't se to mnay perfectly executed swiss cheese holes on models now a days. nice work.
  12. The kit has the same pattern for the fronts and rears,I believe he just covered the front in leather That top looks gooooooood!
  13. Slim I agree..its perfect! Id grab the first version -2 n 1. You get a pair of slicks, a set of drag wheels, drag racing goodies, and a way cool decal sheet..that could help you or..use as trading fodder for more roundy round parts
  14. I almost bought this, but decided to just get the 2 in 1 -more parts!
  15. Whoa!!!!! That is so fricking awesome..
  16. Its a fairly good camera, one of the real downsides to the p80 is it has trouble shooting in lowlight, has alot of noise after iso 200, and it is pretty slow. But, it is stabilized, has a big zoom (if you need it for out doors) has a good macro (that's a plus) If i was spending 300 bucks, Id get a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28. Its in the same class as the P80..it's just better at most things, even shoots HD video at 30 frames. and Image quality is outstanding, shoots very well at low light too.
  17. I use a Canon G2. I'ts an oldie (2002, 4mp) but it takes great shots in doors. Id suggest going with a G series camera, why? Room to grow. There like a DSLR in a point and shoot body (ok they are a little bigger than a normal point and shoot) but they will do everything you want..plus room to grow, if you want to take photos of nature, sunsets etc. Id suggest the G7or G9. It can be had for around 180-240 for the G7 or 300 dollars for the G9(if you can find it), while the newer version can be found at around 414 dollars. If that is still to much, Id grab a Canon a590, it can be had for 110 dollars from Newegg.com (my choice of place) It has full manual settings and takes great macro photos, plus you can buy a lens tube and add macro lens onto to capture even greater closeups. (you can do the same with the G series also.) Hey Aaron, I was gonna get a canon XSI myself...till a friend showed me his Olympus. Look into them before buying a xsi. Im currently saving for a Olympus e-620. But might get a E-520 instead. (in body stabilizer is a big plus with me)
  18. I, like Virgil use Plasti-kote exclusively. The only stickynss I get is with the red oxide, but It is also still cold in the Northeast where I live, so Its bound to a little tacky. However A day later it is fine, Let it sit on a oil filled space heater for a while (temp on low) I use those heaters for drying bodies,a nd they work wonderful.
  19. I look forward to seeing how this progresses! If you're shooting for traditional..I would use the bias plys and steel wheels included in the kit. If its a shelf model..you can add some tubing and glue them offset to the inner wheel halves to lower it... The steelies fit the radial tires too, so you can always do that also You building up the flathead with the speedparts?
  20. I enjoyed it..and welcome it anytime!
  21. Looking great V... Keep the stock wheels! Way better looking than 20's.. imo
  22. See the new 33 "hot rod" from FACTORY fIVE? made to outrun the cobra kit cars..and keep up/out run zo6's!
  23. Mail order? If so.. Megahobby.com is where I buy paints from, they ship during the week, i ordered on monday and recieved it 4 days later!
  24. Being only 24..My child hood is the late 80's early -mid 90's. The one kit that stands out is a richard petty grand prix from AMT (the early 90's one) It never got completed..because I was little and my dad didnt have much time to complete it for me, but I do remember him purchasing the richard petty blue from testors..and laying some nice paint down (hes a perfectionist) But me being little, I would take it apart.. I feel bad now, But I purchased another one, and will finish it in super detail some day in the future!
