  1. Somehow missed on commenting about this one.☝️Beautiful!
  2. Another great one. It also got me to buy the kit. I was much happier with what I found in the box, over what I found in Revell's Nomad above.
  3. The above maybe my all time favorite box art ever done. Sucked me into buying my first one back in the day.
  4. I want AMT's Craftsman '59 Buick to come back if that is still possible. And Mr. Skelly mentioned modifying the Modified Stocker Olds into some other Olds. I'd like to see it modified back to the stock '65 Dynamic 88 it was originally. The other Oldsmobiles Mr. Skelly mentioned would be cool too. But I'd be real happy just to see the original Dynamic 88 come back.
  5. Why do you think the photo was colorized? Color film was available at the time that photo was taken. A decent camera, with color slide film especially, could easily give you a that nice of a color image. It's a great photo. I'm betting it's not been modified. I'd love to see other photos of the same car. I really like the early, pre funny car era, quarter mile stuff.
  6. I agree Bill. I really don't feel too guilty. I do have fun both collecting and building. I always buy with the intent on someday building. I'm just realistic in knowing that will probably never happen. And that is okay. Maybe when I die and go to heaven, I'll be able to complete what I have. And find and build all the other kits I wish I had.
  7. Beautiful Edsel. But, here we go again. Complaints about a new kit not being right. Again, I like the newer Edsel. It's always looked like a correct me. In every way. Plus it's available. The chances of seeing the old come kit back, especially in stock form, are probably nil. The new Ertl designed kit is great.
  8. Okay I had to do it. For a guy who has never been a big fan of '48 Fords, this is ridiculous. One week ago today the only '48 Ford I had in my collection was AMT's 1:43 scale version. Friday I order, and Monday receive the Custom coupe. I'm so impressed with that kit, that on Tuesday I buy a stock coupe on eBay. Yesterday, Wednesday I order a convertible from Model Roundup. This morning, I'm back on eBay looking at the station wagons. Guess what I did? It's not hard to guess. I purchased a wagon. This styrene addiction is a little insane. I have way more kits than I'll ever finish before I croak. What can I say? I love plastic. I don't smoke, drink, or do drugs. Models are closest thing I have to a vice. And I do finish several models a month. Lately, about one a week. So I am having fun. At the same time, as I've noted, I've never been a big fan of '48 Fords. What am I doing?
  9. As I start doing some subassembly to my Custom '48 Ford, I have decided I am going to build for sure the way I originally indicated . With the custom grille #3, the straight tube grille. And the stock style, but vertical, taillights. Smooth bumpers, with no bumper guards. No fadeaway fenders. I'm also be going with unlouvered hood, the flipper wheel covers, and skirts. Since I want to keep it clean. I also will not be using the spotlights.
  10. Me neither. But, I like it.
  11. The three different size pens I bought months ago, are still working fine. It sounds like you got a defective pen. I used mine quite a bit. And they haven't run out yet.
  12. Boy, I agree with Knock It Off, I'm mean Jon above. Not the best art work on this new Edsel reissue. The yellow car in particular on the cover does little to entice me to want to buy this kit.
  13. I keep being impressed with the knowledge of people on this site. The situation with the width of white side walls for example. The guys above were all correct on the history of the change over. Basically '62 with a few exceptions. I'm very impressed.
  14. The real trucks were not "True unibody." They still road on a full seperate frame.
  15. I just went to eBay and ordered the stock coupe.
  16. One of my holy grails. Prefer if it were molded in white plastic though.
  17. Know me, I'm sure I'll end up with a wagon eventually too. Got to have the full fleet. It's part of my sickness.
  18. Lutz. How well was GM run when he was there? I don't see why he's been put on such a pedestal as the end of all automotive wisdom? Why Road & Track magazine replaced their classic P.S. page with him, I'll never understand. I don't see his predictions coming true. Because of American's attitudes towards controlling and owning their own forms of transportation. And even though it true, that the automobile replaced the horse as basic transportation. The is still around, and used recreationally. I sure if the automobile is replaced by these pods, there will still be a place for them recreationally. Lutz is not the God of cars. I'm taking his predictions this a grain of salt.
  19. Interesting and cool. A very neat idea.
  20. Very cool. Another kit I wish Round 2 would reissue.
  21. I love these model histories. Sad to say, I'm not a big fan of this generation el Camino. The only model of this generation I have is the 1979 promo. Which I bought back in '79 when I worked for a local Chevy dealer. Still, despite of my lack enthusiasm for these el Caminos, I do appreciate these history articles.
  22. Thank you Tim and Dave for showing us more of Moebuis' future. The Ford pickups will be high on my want list. The stock Chevy II Nova hardtop is also high on my list. And the Discovery from 2001. That's cool too. I'm looking forward to spending more money on Moebuis models in the future.
  23. Man! I really want one of those. ☝️
