  1. Another good looking one you posted above Tulio. .
  2. In the summer of 1972 I bought the kit below for two reasons. One it was cheap. Two, I again loved the box art.
  3. Working on restoring an old '73 Caprice kit to match the box art below.
  4. Another one I've always loved. Give you three guess how I build one of my "As" from the recent Mod Rod release?
  5. I like AMT's 25 anniversary box art. Especially the one for their '40 Ford coupe and '37 Chevy coupe.
  6. Good to hear! Thank you. I will be posting my Lindberg '40 in a few days then.
  7. I'm getting very close to finishing my Lindberg 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. So far it's looking very good. Very close to AMT's '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. A few minor things that are not as easy to put together as the AMT version. But, it does look almost identical in most other ways. My only problem comes down to posting pictures here of the kit. What service are people now using for posting pictures here? I'd like to share my Lindberg '40 Ford when it's done. Like I say. It's looking quite good, as I finish the last stages of building.
  8. Despite the bad box art. I really wish Revell/Monogram would get around to reissuing their old Land Rover. That kits has been gone for way too long.
  9. I love above box art. I've never seen that one before. Even though I know how bad that kit really is, that box art may convince to buy one if it was reissued with it. That's great art work!
  10. I'm using my Optivisor more and more. It is getting more and more helpful as time goes on. Cataract surgery or not.
  11. Boy! I agree with Snake on that one.
  12. Lucky enough to live that long? I'm only 59, and I just had both eyes done. And I have several friends in their early 50's who have had cataract surgery. So are we lucky to get past 50? I hope people on an average live longer than 50.
  13. 1952 through 1974. Country Sedan lasted 22 years. So your is right in the middle.
  14. Again, Tulio I hope you someday build the 1/25th scale Lindberg kit. It builds out better than you might expect. And I'd like to see what you could do with it. Also, what's your thoughts on the MPC '40 Ford Snap Kit. Looking at pictures online, I'm tempted to buy one. Though I would have build it with out the fire chief equipment. Filling in holes where the top lights, spot lights, and sirens go. I'd also leave off the side pipes.
  15. Your 44? You don't know what old is. Talk to us in another 15 years. Then maybe we can you serious on this subject. These young pups! ?
  16. AMT's '32 Phantom Vicky has a battery that is never seen again if you build it according to the instructions. Which I did.
  17. Even with the missing original pieces, it's still a great kit. It's still a classic. Would I like all of the original parts back? Of coarse. But, that didn't stop me from building a nice model out of the kit a few years ago. I'm happy.
  18. Why? Because they're great movies. They're no Citizen Kane. But, they are a heck of a lot fun.
  19. Beautiful. One of the great cars of all time.
  20. Very nice. A good looking Ford.
  21. Another thought. MPC also made a 1/25th scale '40 Ford coupe snap kit. I believe in its last incarnation it was offered as police car? One time I know it was offered as a fire chiefs car. I also believe at one time it was offered as something fairly close to stock? Maybe a mild custom? What do people know about this kit? How does it compare to the other 1/25th scale '40 Ford coupe kits? Is the kit any good, and worth searching out? Interesting how popular the '40 Ford coupe is, to get 4 different manufacturers to make 4 similar kits in the same scale. I know it's always been a popular and good looking car. It never dawned on me how popular, until I realize how many kits there are of the car. And go on line and see how many other '40 Ford coupes out there in other scales. Wow!
  22. That and the recent '57 Chevy Black Widow reissue. I don't know who the artist is, but they're not as the old Revell or AMT artists were.
  23. In today's mail, from Model Moutain, two kits. One is the Monogram ProModeler '40 Ford Convertible (kit 5961). The other, Revell's 40 Ford Standard Coupe (kit2387). A quick look in both boxes has got me excited. They both look like very nice kits.
  24. The above art work got me to buy the above kit. And I was pleased with what I found in the box.
  25. I'm a third person to disagree on the above. I don't think it looks too bad. Especially not compared to the others seen here. The Ertl AMT kits are bad. But, that Monogram box of the old Aurora Ferrari GTO scares me. The GTO is one of all time favorite Ferraris. Yet I was persuaded to stay away from that one by the box art alone. If it would have been a painting that looking like that, I might have taken a chance, and bought the kit. True I would have then disappointed. For I expect better from Monogram. But, since this a photo of the model. It gave one no doubt about how bad the kit is before purchasing it. Maybe I should thank Monogram for letting me see what I was getting. And saving me both the money, and disappointment.
