Comic Book Ads
unclescott58 replied to unclescott58's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Back to this ad. In the last couple of years Round 2 has release 3 kits in this series. I wonder when we can expect the other 5? -
Comic Book Ads

And here are a few more. "The Kat from AMT Jumps the Gun" I have a copy framed and hanging on my wall. -
Besides loving model kits growing up. I also loved comic books. My favorite models were made by AMT. My favorite comics, DC. Mainly Batman. Combine the two, and you get some great ads for AMT models inside DC comic books in the 1960's. Here is the first in a sample.

Thanks. But, the Roth figure came in the kit prepainted. So I can take no credit for that. Other than choosing which decal to place on his t-shirt. Everything else I did.

Another beautiful one, Tulio. -
Gorgeous. I still love the front end design of the '70 Coronets.

I like it! Very nice.

Terrible Box Art
unclescott58 replied to Junkman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Wow! That is bad! -
Again, thank for all of the nice comments, guys. I'm glad you guys like my take on this subject.

Thanks for all of the nice comments, guys. I am very happy with how this build turned out. I'm glad you guys like it too.

Just as I was surprised over the positive response I've seen on my posting of my '67 Falcon. I surprised over the lack of response to this. I thought a lot more people would interested in seeing it. And I was pretty proud over how both the car and the tiki hut turned out. Tom responded. But, only to tell us how much he liked these kits in general. With no comment on whether he liked mine or not? Is the kit that boring? Or did I do a bad job on it? Why has this one been ignored?
-
First, I'm amazed by all of the interest this kit has generated here. Thank you for all the kind comments by the way. As far as chrome foil and black washing grilles. You'll rarely see that on any of my builds. I like my models clean and simple looking. Almost promo like. Sorry guys. I will do both. But again, rarely.

Terrible Box Art

Ray, do you have pictures of what comes in the above box? It's hard to believe it can be worst than what's on the box. -
Sisu Trucking
unclescott58 replied to unclescott58's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
The one thing I love more than models, are books. And I don't have enough shelves for all of those either. -
For Sisu trucks, yes.

Very cool. It looks right on. I like it.

What would YOU like to see as a model
unclescott58 replied to JeroenM3's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Sorry ?. I don't like the interior either. It looks a bit kit carish to me. -

What is it? Ugly IMO. -
Here we have a Revell 1/32 scale Mack "R" Conventional and Fruehauf Trailer, set up to haul Pure Oil's Firebird Racing Gas. When I was a kid, 9 times out 10, if my dad could, he'd put Pure Oil gas in our cars. So, Pure Oil is still my brand of choice in my modeling world.
