I still haven't opened up the kit yet. I'll try to get at it by this weekend. And I will post photos of the decal sheet for you.

This too, above, is what I'd rather have that the ZZ Top or the Thom Taylor versions. I like having the choice to build it the way I want to. And a lot of times I want to build it stock. Revell/Monogram would sell me a lot more kits if they offered me options like the old AMT 3-in-1 kits. Heck, there are times I want to build all three versions. And guess what? Sometimes I have. Requiring at least three copies of one kit.

Hey, I like the GMC L'Universelle.

Just ordered the latest Revell '64 Fairlane Thunderbolt reissue. Not the best art work on that one either. As far the '76 Torino kit goes. Despite the wrong exhaust setup, I like the kit. I'd like to see more more mid to late 70's kits. But, I think this been mentioned many times before. In fact, maybe too many many times.

I'm sure the trends of the times lead to the demise of the window vans in kit form. Shortly after the muscle car era died, the custom vans took over. And they were not vans with factory side windows or seating arrangements in them. I don't recall too many custom vans before 1973 or so. I'm sure they were out there. But, not like they were by 1975, '76. Trends moved fast back in those days. And model companies moved as quickly as they could to stay up with them. How did we get on to discussion of older van kits here? I don't know who started it? But, I had to go with it. Hopefully we'll get back to the original theme of this thread.

I know "Ford corporate engine blue" can vary all over the place. Depending on where the engine was built. And who made the paint. Engines from the same plant would get a different batch of paint, and the color would be different. As long as was close, is all Ford seemed concerned with. Even though I'm a big GM fan, I don't know if the General had similar problems or not?

Collectible Automobile is still the best car magazine out there. I have every issue from the first. The one magazine I for sure read from cover to cover. I love it.

Here's the Ford and Chevy van models I'd like to see come back.

My vote would be to take the MPC Dodge van all of the way back to its original Sportsman passenger van version. I'd like to see the same done with MPC's 1/20 scale Ford van too. Going back to the original Chateau Club Wagon. In the case of AMT's Chevy Van. The Open Road camper version. I like the vans with windows. It's cool to be able to see something inside these vehicles.

'70 Corvair? Well we know what happened there. But, they were planning on issuing a '70 Ford XL hardtop? I wonder what happened there? As much as I like the '69 XL, I'd like the '70 even more. Also, did the '70 El Camino ever make it out? If not. I wonder why not? And I don't remember AMT offering the '70 Eldorado. I'm pretty sure it only appeared in Jo-Han boxes.

What happened to these? Did any of them make it on to the dealer's shelves? I don't remember any of them.

I also want the '66 Skylark and '66 Thunderbird above too.

An old classic. IMO still the best '57 Chevy kit out there. The trouble is, I don't need another one. Besides having at least one build up from a previous release. And maybe anther one sitting unbuilt. I have three other unbuilt '57 Chevys (not counting Corvettes) waiting in the wings. The other AMT '57 with the opening trunk. The Revell Convertible and 150 Sedan. And or course I have a built up Revell snap kit besides. So, despite my fondest of this kit, I think I'll be passing on this one for now.
