Beautiful model. My only complaint is that it took forever to download the pictures on my iPad.

Another great review and build.

1/25 AMT '65 Lincoln Continental Customizing Kit
unclescott58 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
The box art alone may get me to buy this one. I really like it. That plus the fact I'm not 100% happy with the paint job on the last one I built about 20 years ago. -
Terrible Box Art

It is hacking up a hairball. It's a Palmer kit. -

Saw photos on the web of the two kits above. And first time ever, I have seen two kits I hope Round 2 never reissues. Both were pretty ugly. -
Added one to my collection tonight. Haven't opened the box yet.

It's still nice to see some photos. Not all of us have had our hands on a Hasegawa Toyota 2000GT. I like Shay's request. I hope Jonathan agrees to doing it.

Looks great. I like it.

In general, you'll get no argument from me about that. It's titling this thread as just "Revell Torino" that gives one no clue on which Revell Torino one is going to find? A '70 Torino is always better than a '76 Torino IMO. Still I like the '76 Torino too.

1/24 Monogram '30 Ford Cabriolet - Special Interest Series
unclescott58 replied to Casey's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
It would be nice if Revell/Monogram could reissue both this the coupe again. It's been to many years since we've seen these two very nice kits. -
Oh. I may get the Boss Mustang too. If they fixed the front end. Which I think people are saying they are doing.

Nice! Though only thing I may get from this bunch is the Porsche tractor. Most of the others, I already have. Even though I hate the '48 Greased Lightning Ford, I like the way Revell is releasing this kit, with the option to build it stock. Giving us the option on how we want to build the model. Thank you Revell. Even though I have an earlier release, and have no plans I buying this one.

Nice Torino. Though from the title I was expecting to see the newer '76 version. Since that's been talked about so much recently. Still, your '70 is very nice. Good job.

No. Shot it straight out of the can. With no primer coat. It worked great. I'm not a big fan of Testor's regular paint. I stay as far away their enamel spray paint. I mainly use Tamiya lacquer. But, I've had very good luck Testor's One Coat Lacquer too.

I've never seen the two kits above in real life. I'm wondering if they were announced by AMT, but never produced? Like their Porsche 911 kit back in '67. And their garbage truck in the mid-1970's. -

I too would love the two above offered as kits. Two great looking cars. -

Why thank you. -
I can't remember if I ever posted photos of this one or not. But, here it is. A Volkswagen Beetle Batmobile. I have three theories on why Batman would have Beetle Batmobile. 1. In 1969 Dick Grayson (Robin) left Bruce and Alfred to go to Hudson University. At college he still dawned his Robin outfit to fight crime. Now do you remember what college parking lots were full of in the late 60's? Volkswagen Beetles. So Robin needed a Beetle Batmobile to fit in. To be cool. 2. When the fuel crisis hit in the fall of 1973, it was hard to get gas for the Batmobile. Hence, Batman got himself a Beetle to save on gas. 3. He used this car for special cases in Europe back in the 60's. It's easier to maneuver through tight European city traffic. Any how.... On to the kit itself. I built this one about 7 or 8 years ago, I believe. I've always been a big Batman fan. And surfing the web one day I came across this Batmobile conversion kit, designed for the Polar Lights Herbie the Love Bug kit. I knew I had to have one. So I ordered it. I'm glad that I ordered it when I did. For since that time I've never been able find other photos of this kit, the kit itself, or the resin maker. It was produced by an outfit that was Academy Art & Design. And the conversion kit was called Bat-44. It was a fair kit quality wise. But, with a little work, I liked the way it turned out. It's something fun and different.

Wow! No one has an opinion on this one? I thought for sure it draw some interest. -
This a very nice kit overall. But, I am just not a big fan of idea of the Fire Chief version. So I'm going to build mine as close as I can to a "stock" '40 Ford Deluxe coupe, to go along with my Lindberg, AMT, and Revell '40 Ford coupes. This one is going to be painted red. The Lindberg is built already, and is Dark Blue. The AMT version, I plan on doing in Light Blue. And the Revell being a Standard coupe, I'm thinking of Gray. It going to be fun having the four to compare to each other.
