Very nice models. All of them. But, being a big Buick fan, I especially appreciate the Riv and Electra.

Terrible Box Art

On the Customized Corvette box art, I like the expressions of the all people in that scene. Everybody really does not look all that happy or impressed with the car. Except the guy kneeling next to the car with the trophys. And his expression looks like he can't believe he sucker the judges into giving him another one! -

The box art is better than the actual model. By far! -

Boring maybe? But not really bad. The kit and how it's been built look pretty good to me. -

Here are two more bad ones. Actually the art work on the Customized Corvette is not bad. It's the car itself that ruins that one. -

Now that I can upload photos to this site, here is one I finished recently. It's Lindberg's 1/25 scale '32 Ford Hot Rod * Voiture Dynamisee. Kit #72165. A very old kit. Originally designed to be motorized. Low in any real detail. Yet I like it. In fact I like it a lot. It's got a nice old fashion, old school Hot Rod feel to it, that works for me. By the way, several early Hot Rods and Hot Rod model kits had hoods similar to what is seen on this model. Does anybody know what was behind the design of these hoods? A few of us were speculating, that it might have been done that way to get around state and local laws that required some sort of hood on a vehicle. Not my favorite look. Nor am I big fan of cycle fenders. But, since I haven't built a lot of kits with either feature, I decided to go with them on this kit. And I do like them on this kit.

The engine from the '30? I hope not. One of the nice things about the '29 was having the Buick Nailhead in it. The '30 had a Very nice Small Block Chevy. But, it was a Small Block Chevy. And there are plenty of kits out there already with a Small Block Chevy in them. So I'm hoping the reports of kit coming back without the Nailhead are not true. And if they are, I'm glad I bought my '29 in its first time out.

In the summer of 1972 I bought the kit below for two reasons. One it was cheap. Two, I again loved the box art. -

Another one I've always loved. Give you three guess how I build one of my "As" from the recent Mod Rod release? -

I like AMT's 25 anniversary box art. Especially the one for their '40 Ford coupe and '37 Chevy coupe. -
I'm getting very close to finishing my Lindberg 1/25 scale '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. So far it's looking very good. Very close to AMT's '40 Ford Deluxe coupe. A few minor things that are not as easy to put together as the AMT version. But, it does look almost identical in most other ways. My only problem comes down to posting pictures here of the kit. What service are people now using for posting pictures here? I'd like to share my Lindberg '40 Ford when it's done. Like I say. It's looking quite good, as I finish the last stages of building.

Despite the bad box art. I really wish Revell/Monogram would get around to reissuing their old Land Rover. That kits has been gone for way too long. -

I love above box art. I've never seen that one before. Even though I know how bad that kit really is, that box art may convince to buy one if it was reissued with it. That's great art work! -

I'm using my Optivisor more and more. It is getting more and more helpful as time goes on. Cataract surgery or not. -

Lucky enough to live that long? I'm only 59, and I just had both eyes done. And I have several friends in their early 50's who have had cataract surgery. So are we lucky to get past 50? I hope people on an average live longer than 50. -
Comparing the AMT and Revell 1940 Ford Coupes.

Again, Tulio I hope you someday build the 1/25th scale Lindberg kit. It builds out better than you might expect. And I'd like to see what you could do with it. Also, what's your thoughts on the MPC '40 Ford Snap Kit. Looking at pictures online, I'm tempted to buy one. Though I would have build it with out the fire chief equipment. Filling in holes where the top lights, spot lights, and sirens go. I'd also leave off the side pipes. -

Unseen detail. But I know it's there

AMT's '32 Phantom Vicky has a battery that is never seen again if you build it according to the instructions. Which I did.
