Greg Meyers pointed out on the box art for the Indy Drag Combo, the Willys in the background is coming off its trailer using no ramps. And he seemed to think that odd. Come on Greg, a Willys don't need no ramps. After all they went on to manufacture Jeeps. And I'm sure that some of that Jeep magic was built into every Willys. Even if the Jeep came after that generation Willys was done. ? Scott

Working on my Lindberg 1952 Chevy fastback this morning. I thought about how two new products (at least for me) that I've learned about just in the last 12 months has made my model building so much easier. One is the Molotow Liquid Chrome as we've been talking about here. The other is the Bondic UV light activated glue. Both have worked out great for me. They both help make this Chevy project go together in a much more satisfactory way than it would have without them. The Bondic was used for gluing in the glass. The Molotow for all of the chrome. I'm sure I could have gotten decent results using other materials I've used in the past. But in this case, I found the new products to work that much better for me. I'm very happy with the results. Other than that left wheel looking a wonky. (Maybe because it's set for a turn?) the kit looks beautiful. Very nice. Scott

I purchased one through eBay. The other two on Amazon. There are several discussions in this thread and others debating the merits and vices of these pens. Like anything there are pluses and minuses. But, my experience so far has been all positive. I love them. Will they replace BMF for everything? No. In my situation they'll be replacing BMF for most things. I find them easier to use. And the end result just as good. If not better. This is just my opinion. I recommend at least trying them, and seeing what you think. Scott

I'm with you on this one Christian. I hate BMF. And I love the Molotow Liquid Chrome pens. Much easier for me to work to work with. There are one or two instances where may be needed for some things. But for most, the Molotow pens have made them history for me too. Scott

Very nice. This is one I'd like to see Lindberg reissue. I assume they have the tool, since they have the '52 fastback. By the way, what scale are these kits really? I don't believe them to be 1/32 scale. All those old Pyro/Life Like/Lindberg kits in this series look small compared to other 1/32 scale car kits out there. Scott

Fun to read about your Cavalier model too. I owned a full size 4-door Cavalier for several years. It was too bad of a car. I like it. A year or two ago I bought an '82 Cavalier promo model cheap off of eBay. It's in perfect shape. But, it looks no where near as good as your kit build. Though the wheels fit well within the wheel wells on the promo. Fun reading about these "losers". I really want to find an EXP model kit for my collection. I hated the car at the time. But now, I kind of like it. (Senility setting in?) Scott

Today I got a kit I've been wanting, thinking about, and debating on for at least 40 years now. Debating on because I've always been a little intimidated by it. And that is AMT's 1/12 scale 1937 Cord 812 S/C convertible coupe. I got the most recent issue. The last one Ertl put out molded in gray plastic. Less than 5 minutes after mailman dropped it off, I had it opened. It was a sealed kit, and everything inside looks just fine. But, wow! I can't get over how big the thing is. After buying their 1/18 scale Cord diecast a few years back, I thought that would satisfy my need for a large scale Cord. Like the AMT Cord kit, I like the also the Ertl diecast because it represents the convertible coupe rather than the convertible phaeton like all the other scale kits of Cord 810/812s. But, I guess it did not satisfy a need/hunger for a larger scale Cord. So now I have the AMT kit too. I think I now have, other the Franklin Mint version, just about every scale model Cord. I'm sure I'm missing one or two. But, I do have most of them now. Now I need a real full size version! Scott

I'm building several 1/32 scale cars right now, that came with no chrome parts in the kits. Like Revell's Highway Pioneers 1936 Cord 810, and Lindberg's 1952 Chevrolet fastback. Because of the 2mm pen, the Cord now has beautiful chrome bumpers and hub caps. The Chevy, a nice shiny the grille. With the bumpers and hub caps on that being chromed very soon. I also went over the non-chromed silver plastic parts in the latest reissue of Revell's 1/32 Scale Opel GT kit. There have been several small scale and older kits that have never look quite right because they did not come with chrome parts. These pens now resolve that problem. So far I've only got and used the 2mm pen. But, I do have a 1mm and 4mm pens coming. I can see a lot of use for these pens. Including using them in place Bare Metal foil in several cases. I think this stuff looks just as good as Bare Metal foil. And is easier to use than the foil in most cases. This first pen is great! Well worth the money. Scott

A day or two ago I got my first Molotov Liquid Chrome marker. Started using it this morning. All I can say is Wow! These things are great. I was impressed with what I saw at the MCCM meeting last week, seeing them there for the first time. But, I'm even more impressed now that I've tried them in person. They're easy to control. And results look as close to real chrome as I've ever seen. This is great! Scott

Great vintage like art work with that next reissue of the '70 Super Bee. Tempted to go for another one just for that reason. Scott

To me, the above represents one of worst looking AMT box art ever. Ugly wheels. Weird headlamp setup. And then calling a "woodie" besides. Ugh! What we're they thinking when they came up with this one? And were did those extra custom parts come from? The headlamp, skirts, and wheels. I've never seen them in any other version of that kit, before or since. Thank goodness. Scott

I got my Lindberg (Pyro) '48 Lincoln in the mail today. The Lincoln here, and Dave Van's Lincoln have convinced me to give this kit a try. I'm looking forward to seeing what I can do with it. If mine turns out half as nice as this one or Dave's, I'll be very pleased. Scott

I started working on the Lindberg Auburn I got over the weekend. I'm much more impressed with this kit than I expected to be. My only complaint is the raised door lines. And even that is not as bad as it could be. I've seen a lot worst. I'll be leaving them be. The more I look at and play around with this kit, the more I like it. Shouldn't have stayed away from it for so long. Better than the old Pyro/Lindberg Cord. And I recently picked up the Cord. It's not as nice as the Monogram version. But, it's no where nearly as bad as a lot of people claim it is. I'm impressed enough with both the old Pyro/Lindberg Auburn and the Cord to have ordered the Pyro/Lindberg Lincoln. Scott

I want the MGB shown above. Another one of those cars I've always been surprised has never been issue as 1/25 or 1/24 scale kit from a major manufacturer. That and the Mk I Capri. Scott
