  1. Thanks for the update Harry. And know that I'm still praying for you. Scott
  2. I'd like some early 2nd gen GM F-body stuff. Like a 1970 - '72 Camaro SS without the RS front end. And a 1970 - '71 Firebird Formula (anything other than a Trans Am). Others? A 1971 Dodge Demon 340. And one another person here proposed, a 1972 Montego GT. Scott
  3. Who's C-body? GM's or Chrysler's? And what generation? Scott
  4. Casey what cars encompassed the "dreaded" L-body Mopars? Is this the Horizon, Omni, TC3, O24 bunch? If they are, I'd be kind of interest in adding a TC3 to collection. I didn't like the looks of the car at the time. But now, they have kind of grown on me. Maybe it's senility setting in? Scott
  5. ???? These cars only came in LHD. And what is "stingy-mingy " mean? I've never heard that term before. Scott
  6. Modelhaus' '72 Riviera doesn't look too bad. Your right, no one has quite gotten the roof 100% right. My buddy who recently got the Modelhaus '72 Riv model owns one of each year of the real full-size the boattails. '71, '72, and '73. All three are GSs ('73 Stage 1, of course). For that matter, he owns one of every year Riv with the GS package from '65 - '75. Plus a few later Rivs (convertible, Silver Arrow, turbo, etc.). So looking that his new model we could see it was not quite right. A little flat in the middle rear part of the roof. Other than that, everything else looked pretty right on. And the roof it's really not that bad. It would take Riviera expert like my buddy, you, or I to really notice it. Maybe someone will buy Modelhaus and bring back the Riv. Or better yet, I keep hoping Revell or Moebius may someday give us a boattail in styrene. But, I will not be holding my breath wait for that one. Scott
  7. I didn't know we're aloud to get rid of anything. I thought we stuck with this plastic until we die. Scott
  8. Kind of a sad day today. I got my last order from Modelhaus today. In May I ordered their 1967 Grand Prix convertible. My all time favorite Poncho. It came like everything I ever ordered from Modelhaus. A nicely designed kit, in perfect condition. That's why I'm a bit sad. Carol and Don Holthaus always did a great job running their company. In the 25 or 30 years I dealt with them, I never once had a problem. Or was dissatisfied with what I got. Thank you Carol and Don. A good buddy of mine a week of two ago got his last order from Modelhaus. He too ordered a '67 Grand Prix convertible. Plus a '72 Riviera and '74 Caprice Estate wagon. All three very nice kits. I'm sad that I was unable to order a '72 Riv from them. Budget being what is. I'd be interested in what others have gotten as their last models from Modelhaus. And what their thoughts are on what they got. Scott
  9. It was a typo. I don't know if it was me, the "human," or the autocorrection of the iPad? I'm leaning towards the human. Scott
  10. Luc, sorry about misspelling your name above. I didn't see the mistake until I saw your response. I have corrected it. Scott
  11. Luc you bring up something I've never thought about. Your right, it would have been nice if Ertl would have tooled up a new early 2nd gen Firebird when they did the Camaro kit. The only trouble I can see is that they would have done another Trans Am. Don't get me wrong, I do like Trans Ams. But, I rather see a 1970 - '72 Firebird Formula. (I've also wish someone would offer an SS version of 2nd gen Camaro. Without the RS front end.) Scott
  12. Jesse, I noticed on your above list that. Revell of Germany is planning on bringing out a '76 Torino. I'm interested in seeing what color plastic they will mold it in. Hopefully white. More important I hope they fix the carb/air cleaner setup. That is main reason I've stayed away from the Starsky and Hutch version. I'd also like to see some factory wheel/wheel covers. Scott
  13. The Panamera is something not very high to on my wish list. Generally I consider a Porsche with 4 doors to be bit of sacrilege. A Porsche SUV even more. At the same time, I do kind of like the looks of the Panamera. So this is one of cars I might be convinced to move onto my wish list with right review. Scott
  14. That info may move that kit on to my wish list. I'll be anxious to see a review when this one when it comes out. I'd love be able to build a "boring run of mill" ? stock DB5. Somehow the earlier versions designed mainly around the Bond car, have never looked that appealing to me. So, I'm glad to hear that a fresh, modern tool of this car is coming. Scott
  15. You expect people to be rational about this, do you? I get a kick out of people telling us what they are not going to buy. I personally like to talk about what I'm excited about in each new release. And through my buying habits, hopefully get the model companies to release more of the stuff that I'm interested in. Again, the EMPI Imp dune buggy, even if it's 1/32 scale excites me. Though I do hope it the 1/25 scale version that they are planning on releasing. There are several things in Revell's latest announcement that I have no interest in. But, I have no interest putting those kits down. Especially if another person here is excited about them. Why should I rain on their parade? I hope we all can get what we want. I don't enjoy hearing people tell me what they don't like. Or to implying that what me interests don't meet with their approval. Who cares? I'm in this hobby to have fun. And there is an old saying that, "Money talks. And BS walks." I almost always in every release find something to be excited by. Whether it is something new. Or something old that I liked in the past, or wish I could have purchased in past. It's all okay. One last thing. There have been times when another's excitement and/or interest, or a review of a particular kit, has gotten to get me to take intest in and buy a kit I have no interest in initially. That why I peruse these threads. Scott
  16. Thanks Christian for digging up info on the MPC Aston DB-6 and Toyota 2000GT convertible. Airfix also made Toyota 2000GT coupe. Very cool. I may have to see what I can find out about that one. A shame that they can only be built with right-hand drive. A question for everybody. Is the dune buggy Revell is bring back the 1:32 scale version? I forgot that at one time Revell also made a 1:25 EMPI Imp model also. In fact, I believe it came with a Corvair and VW choice of engine? Could this be the kit they plan on bring back instead? I hope so. Scott
  17. Other than the Toyota 2000GT roadster, did MPC ever offer the other three Airfix kits mentioned above? I don't remember seeing them in an MPC boxes ever. That doesn't mean it didn't happen. I just don't remember it. And did any of the four kits mentioned above have the option to build them with left-hand drive? I'd really like to find a Toyota 2000GT coupe that could be build with left-hand drive. Scott
  18. The only one I'm looking forward to here, is the EMPI Imp dune buggy. I'm okay with 1:32 scale nowadays. And next the Myers Manx, the Imp is second favorite dune buggy. So I'm glad to this coming. Scott
  19. I happy to see that AMT's 1:32 scale '65 Mustang is coming back. I love the kits from the old AMT "All Star" series. Nice simple little kits. I hope the '63 Corvette, '60 Thunderbird, '40 Ford sedan, and '32 Ford 3-window coupe are not far behind. And I get a kick out of all those who complain about Round 2 reissuing mosting old kits. Many of us are very happy with with what Round 2 is doing. Round 2 does spend money tooling up new die casts, sci fi models, etc. So they are offering new things. They must know where the money is. That's the reason they keep offering what they do. Rather than complaining, spend your money on the new kits you like from other companies. If that's where the market is, I'm sure Round 2 will follow suit. Scott
  20. Went to 3 local hobby stores today hoping to find Moebius' new '65 Cyclone kit. None had it. So, I had to buy an MPC Rupp Roadster Mini-Bike instead. Which is good. But, I still want a Cyclone. Hopefully soon. Scott
  21. I got the MPC Rupp Roadster Mini-Bike kit today. I've been waiting for it to hit the selves. I didn't know it had come out yet. Another kit I've been wanting for about 45 years now. I'm happy to have one. A neighbor kid had real one when we were growing up. It was a fun bike to ride. And I've always liked the simple looks and the squarish gas tank that came on the first ones. Which the kit depicts. The later Rupp Roadsters looked a little too slick. Not as simple and fun looking as that first Rupp Roadster. Scott
  22. I have this strange desire to pickup Lindberg's (Pyro's) Cord 812. Like the Auburn, I like these two old Pyro kits for some reason. I do have the Monogram Cord. A far superior kit to Lindberg's in every way. So why do I keep thinking I need a Lindberg Cord in my collection? I had the Pyro kit years ago, so I know what it's like. Scott
  23. I like the small bumpers Pintos the best. But, in the big bumper Pintos I like '79s and '80s best. I never like the '77, '78 front end at all. It just goes to show that there are "different strokes, for different folks." Scott
