  1. Hasn't he been on YouTube for years? Plus posting here besides? R. Scott Aho
  2. My thought exactly. Because this kit can not be built stock, I've stayed away it. Another great review from Doc. Cranky. By the way, were has the good Doctor disappeared in the last year or two? He and his reviews are sorely missed. R. Scott Aho
  3. I recently, within the last six months or so, added the IMC Avenger GT-12. Very cool kit. I hunted for one for a couple years. Happy to say, the one I got was unbuilt and complete.
  4. James you maybe right. I maybe an ass in this case. At the same time I didn't like it. The begging for money from subscribers in that particular video. I have never heard of Tom or seen any of his videos before this on YouTube. I've seen people asking for one to subscribe to their videos before. But, to ask for money directly like he did. I found it more than a little bit tacky. There are plenty of people doing good reviews and builds on YouTube without asking for cent. I would assume (and assuming can be a great mistake) that if your videos are that good. And you have so many susbscribers. That some commercial account could step in, and support you with advertisements or something else. Again, am I'm being a jerk about this? Maybe. Somehow I don't think so or really care. It's my opinion and right or wrong. I'm privileged to have it. As are you. Your also free to send him as much money as you want. R. Scott Aho
  5. Begging for money to become a full time model reviewer and builder? The review was good, but really no better than others out there doing the same and holding a regular job besides. I too want somebody else to pay for my hobbies. (Though I'm not really interested in quitting my regular job.) If people start sending me money, I too will buy more kits and start reviewing them on YouTube. Good luck. I hope it works. But, I'm not going to pay for someone else to retire and play all day. Again, review was good. But the begging for money made it the worst review I've ever seen. Sorry. R. Scott Aho
  6. I'm happy after a great week of working with elementary school kids. Hopefully I will end the week as well today. On Tuesday, I had a great time talking with a bunch of 3rd graders about the Civil Rights movement of the 1950's and 60's. This started when a I told a teacher the day before about one of the most interesting evenings I've ever had about 20 years ago. On September 9, 1996 I was taking the train out of Washington DC, going to Chicago. That was the day Rosa Parks had been honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom. After a fine dinner in the dining car, I wandered off to the club car. On one end of the club car were several older African American people talking about their expearances in the early days of Civil Rights movement. One who happened to be Rosa Parks' niece. I sat down a little ways away from these people. But close enough to over hear them talking. I was so interested in what they were talking about, I asked if could sit with them, and just listen. They said sure, I was welcome to join them. Now I'm a white guy who grew up in lilly white suburbs of the 1960's, who had not experience what these people have gone through. Though I remember watching the news back then, and not understanding why blacks were being treated so badly. Having police dogs and fire hoses turned on them, just because they want the same things we had? It made no sense to me even as a young kid. So I am sitting listening to these people talking about their struggles and the work they did to get their rights, and hopefully change society for the better. Since I was not involved in their struggles, I really could only sit back and listen. By the way, Rosa Parks' niece did stay with us long. But, I ended up sitting with the rest of these people, learning more about an important part of our history, over the next 5 or so hours. It was a fantastic evening. And I like that we ended the evening telling jokes. Which I did participate in. (No surprise there.) So here I am today working in the schools of the same suburbs I grew up in. And I'm talking with a third grade class about my train ride and my views on Civil Rights. And I'm happy to say that classroom I was in is not all lilly white the way it was 40 - 50 years ago when I attended schools near by. I was also please that children felt comfortable enough with me and the subject to interject with their questions and comments about this subject. Things may not be perfect with race relations today. But they are better than what they were when I was born almost 59 years ago. And hopefully I'm contributing in my little way to making them a little better. R. Scott Aho
  7. Very cool build! I especially like the hat. R. Scott Aho
  8. Great review and build Erik. I've thought about this buying kit many times. This may push me a step closer to buying one. Maybe sometime after the holidays? R. Scott Aho
  9. Great find Steve. Though I think it's too nice to mess with. For a kit from that era it's very nicely done. It's a piece of history. And, like others I too wish that this kit would or could be reissued. R. Scott Aho
  10. A lion ate a bull. He felt so good he roared and roared. The hunter heard him roar and killed the lion. The moral of the story is: when your full of bull, keep your mouth shut! R. Scott Aho
  11. A grandmother was walking down the street wheeling a baby carriage. "Go to sleep, Diploma," cooed Gradma to the little the little tot in the carriage. A neighborhood friend asked, "That's a paculiar name. Why do you call the child 'Diploma'?" "Well," said Grandma, "I sent my daughter to college and this is what she brought back!" R. Scott Aho
  12. When God created Earth, he called Man before him and said, "I'm giving you twenty years of normal sex life." Man objected, but God wouldn't budge. "Just twenty. That's all." Then he called the Lion and gave him twenty years of normal sex life. The Lion said, "But, God, ten years is plenty." Man spoke up and asked for the Lion's other ten and the Lion gave them to him. God then called the Monkey and gave him twenty years. The Monkey said, "ten years will be sufficient." Man spoke up and received the Monley's extra ten. The Donkey was called next and given twenty years like the others. He wanted only ten, and Man again asked for and received the ten years of added sex life. Last, God called for the Parrot and gave him twenty years of normal sex life. Then Man asked for his extra ten years, and the Parrot said okay. This shows why Man has twenty years of normal sex life, ten years of lion about it, ten years of monkeying around about it, ten years of making an ass out of himself and ten years of talking about it! 13. I like it. A nice save. R. Scott Aho
  14. Sure they'd look better with BMF. But, I too find the stuff a pain to work with and don't use it much on my builds. Then I only use on the big stuff. Like wide rocker panels or the fake hood vents on the '63 Corvette. So I'm glad to see other's models that look similar to mine. I think your two builds look great. R. Scott Aho
  15. Again, very nice. But I expect no less than that from you Tulio. R. Scott Aho
  16. Very nice as usual Tulio. I like your taste in cars. R. Scott Aho
  17. Very nice Floyd. I love those old school AMT kustoms that you could build straight out of box like that. The only thing I don't care for on your build is the chain steering wheel. But, then again I've never liked that look no matter what I've seen it on. That's just a matter of personal taste. The model looks great. R. Scott Aho
  18. A very nice job. It looks great. R. Scott Aho
  19. Very nice job. Still one of my all time favorite race cars. R. Scott Aho
  20. Does nothing for me. Why is GM doing this with Cadillac? Will this really help increase their customer base? I do hope it gets the young hipsters buying Caddys. Cadillac offers nothing that interests me anymore. Yet they do sell fairly well. So I'm sure this is probably the right way for them to go. I'm afraid I've become an old dinosaur. R. Scott Aho
  21. Why do cows have hooves rather than feet? Because they lactose. R. Scott Aho
  22. Why do milking stools only have three legs? Because the cows have the utter. R. Scott Aho
  23. You hit the nail on the head. I'm a big Star Trek fan, but I'll be passing on Discovery because I'm being forced to pay for it. And I bet I'll still be forced to watch commercials with it too. As far as the new show with the old Top Gear guys. I'd love to watch it, but I don't know where to find it. But, if I have to pay for it, I got better things to spend my money on. I do not watch enough TV to justify paying for any of it. No cable or satellite in my house. I build models and read books instead. And spend my money on that. R. Scott Aho
  24. Good looking Mustang. R. Scott Aho
