  1. Looking on line, it looks like MPC's present NASCAR Cyclone has nothing at all that can be used in building a stock Cyclone. I'm guessing the best bet is Revell's '70 Torino kit. I'd really like to see one built before buying this resin kit. I'd like to see the exact changes needed to adapt Revell's Torino chassis and interior to this resin kit. Is anybody buying this kit for sure, and willing to show us the build on one the of the threads here? Letting us know what really needs to be done to build a stock/street Cyclone. This sounds like it possibly could be a pain to build?

  3. Today in the mail, I got Missing Link's '65 Buick Wildcat resin. The first time for me ordering from them. Opening the box, I was very please with what I found. A nice looking resin, that looks like it will take very little prep to build into a nice model. I especially like the chrome parts. I hate buying a resin kit were I need to send parts out to be chromed. No problems there with Missing Link's '65 Wildcat. The parts that need to be chrome, are already chromed and nicely done. Shipping was fast. And the price was reasonable. What more can one ask for?
  4. By the way, my only real worry using the MPC kit is the engine and lack of a floor console. And when I get one, I building mine to represent a Cyclone GT. I like the GT much better than the Spoiler.
  5. As noted else where, I got my '65 Wildcat from you today. And I am very please with what I got. So, your Cyclone is now high on my list of must haves. I would just like a little more info on the Cyclone kit. What regular model kit does one use with this conversion? Are all the parts in MPC's Cyclone NASCAR model there, other than the parts you provide? I remember the original MPC '70 and '71 Cyclones were set up to be built stock or NASCAR using the same chassis. From my understanding, in the later NASCAR version, MPC omitted the the stock parts, and modified the body to be more like a real NASCAR racer. So, using that recently reissued MPC kit, and your resin kit, can I build a stock Cyclone? Or is there other stuff I will need? Or do I need to modify a Revell Torino to make it work?
  6. I just got home and found my '65 Wildact resin waiting for me. Man she is a nice looking model. You do quality work. I'm pleased to say that everything looks. No flash, other than in the vent windows. Which is no big deal. And very nice chrome. As I said, I'm pleased. You'll be please to know I made mention of you at this last Wednesday's Model Car Club of Minnesota meeting. I was told by others there that you do good work. And to expect nice stuff from you. They were right. So, gang. I'm impressed and have no problems recommending Missing Link as a vendor. Thanks Kevin.
  7. '58 Edsel. Pacer 4-door sedan. Prefer a convertible or 4-door hardtop. But, for practical reasons it would have to be a sedan or wagon. The Edsel wagons were just too ugly. So a sedan it would have to be. If it had to be a wagon, it proably be a 4-door Chevy wagon. Prefer the Nomad in that case, which became a 4-door that year.
  8. In preparation for this up coming release, I went on eBay today and bought the last reissue of this kit. With that one I'll be building a stock A. With the Mod Rod kit when it comes out, I'll be building the Mod Rod itself, with fenders. And the fenderless late 20's - 1930's race version.
  9. Most likely the AMT kit is modeled after a Chris-Craft model called Racing Runabout. Offered from the late 1940's through the mid-to-late 50's. There was also similar pre-war Chris-Craft model called the Deluxe Runabout offered in the 1930's. But, looking at the boats online, I'd be willing to bet AMT's kit is the Racing Runabout.
  10. Bad angle, but the fourth piece down could be the rear bumper off of an Imperial.
  11. Lacquer. Mainly Tamiya. In spay cans. I avoid enamel in almost all cases.
  12. The MPC/AMT '69 Camaro is very old school. Yet I still like it. The more recent AMT '70 Camaros are very nice kits. I really like those.

  16. I don't remember the exact problem you've mentioned above. But, I do remember the kit having serveral areas where were fit was an issue. It's not one of AMT's better kits. Great subject. Only fair in execution.
  17. I see that now. What I did not see is the '71 Cyclone kit you mentioned you offered. If your '65 Wildcat is as good as it looks, I may have to order the Cyclone down the road.
  18. Stop putting that picture up. It's going to givie me nightmares. And the Marx Bros. They are by far my favorite comedy team. Followed closely by the Three Stooges. Groucho by himself is the greatest and most brilliant comic ever.

  20. That is a nice looking Buick. I love both the color, and the fact that it does not have a vinyl roof.

  22. Sorry not all the footage in the credits were taken from the first season shows. I recenty watch all of the first season of Mannix. That scene with the girl we've been talking does not appear any episode. First season. Or seasons 2 - 8. That shot may have been done for some kind of test film? Or maybe just for the credits? So the question still is, who is she? My vote is still leaning toward for Thordis Brandt. That doesn't mean I'm right though. I'd like definitive proof of who she is. Whether, Thordis Brandt, Lee Parrish, or someone else.
