Snake, it's amazing what the manufacture would do from time-to-time, with out public notification. I too know nothing about Magnum 500s being available on Camaro from the factory. But, I would not be surprised to see a publicity photo around that time with them. I have a buddy who owns a black '71 Buick Riviera with factory installed front light monitors. The trouble is, most, if not all of Buick's 'official" literature for 1971 will tell you that the color black and lamp monitors were not available on 1971 Rivieras. Both items became available for '72. Yet my buddy has the build sheet and the trim and option tags that show both of these items were installed on his car at the factory. It turns out, they both became available near the end of '71 model run. Back to half year cars. I'm sure you've heard of '64 1/2 Mustangs? No such beast existed according to Ford at the time. All Mustangs built in 1964 were 1965 models said Ford. When the other '65 Ford models came out later that fall, Mustang got several changes. Big things like the 2+2 body style and an alternator replacing the generator on the "early" '65s. Plus many other minor minor changes. These were such that car guys started to refer to the early '65 Mustangs as '64 1/2s. I've also heard that some states were not willing to title the early Mustangs as '65s either. I don't know if that's true or not. But, again according to Ford back then, there were no 1964 1/2 Mustangs. Only '65s. Despite the late introduction of both the '70 Camaro and Corvette, I again don't know if any official Chevy literature referred to them as 70 1/2 models, or not. But, it was commonly made reference to in the press. More so with the Camaros and Firebirds, since they went through big changes. But, I have seen it with the Corvette too.

A quick little search, and I've found nothing on which girl it is so far. I do have every episode of Mannix on DVD. I'll have to go back a watch each of the first season episodes they appeared in, and see if I can find a match. IMDB lists the episodes each was in. Again, thanks Joe.
-
Thank you, Joe. That's the girl! If I had to take a guess from the above three photos. I'd have to go with Larain Stephens

Thank you Dr. Snapper. Fun little piece. And I too have never knew about the Ben Stiller Show before.

Yea Snake, the face lifted '70 Corvette did not show up on the show floors of the dealers until the new 1970 Camaros were ready to make their appearance. Which wasn't until about February of 1970. Serveral months after other new '70 Chevys. Chevrolet built '69 Corvettes and Camaros later into the year than normal. And in some states, these were required to be titled new 1970 automobiles. The above holds true for the new Pontiac Firebirds too. So in lots of printed materials from the time, you'll see these three cars referred to as '70 1/2s.

Very nice. I like it. Paint the car brown, and give the windows a bronze tint, you'd have my Dad's '77 Mut II. By the way, his windows were not tinted by a custom shop of some sort. Or some aftermarket item designed to tint windows. He spent years working on it. One cigarette at a time. And never cleaning the inside of the car. It was gross. Which is something your '77 Mut II is not, Tom.

Heck, I'd build it more the way I wish was. Rather than the way it really it was. I repainted a '61 AMT Comet a few years back to match my Dad's. His real car had dog dishes and no radio. The model depicted a car with full wheel covers and a radio. If he could have afforded those two items when he bought the car, he would have included them. So the model depicts the car close to what it was, and could have been if he had the extra money.

Little Jimmy come home from his first day in 1st grade. He is doing his math homework at the kitchen table while his mother prepares dinner. She thinks she hears Jimmy say, "Two plus two. The son of a bitch is four." She's not sure she heard him right. Then she hears him say, "Three plus three. The son of a bitch is six." She is sure she heard him right this time. And is shocked! "Jimmy," his mother asks, "who told you it was okay to talk that way?" Jimmy replies, "My school teacher." Mother, "Are you sure of that Jimmy?" "Yes ma'am." And he goes on. "Four plus four. The son of a bitch is eight. That's just the way she told us to do it!" Well needless to say, Jimmy's mother is not at all happy with this. The next day she goes to the school to confront the teacher. "Who are you to teach my son to use such vulgar language when doing his math?" She asked the teacher. The teacher is shocked! And replies, "I didn't tell Jimmy that! In math I told him, "The sum of which is."

Or pretend/forget that your 1/1 '67 did not have the '67 wheel covers. And build it with those covers.

It doesn't really need to be up to my standards. Since I'll mainly be looking at the VW engine in this case. It will probably stay in the box and never be built as long as I own it. But, after looking at the instructions, it didn't look like any hemi I've ever seen. And it sounds like that is true in the plastic too. Thanks Snake. I'm always pretty impressed with your knowledge. And your willingness to share that knowledge.

Talk about forgotten stars. Okay, maybe she was not a star, the Mannix girl. But, we're talking about beautiful women, and I would not be surprised if someone on this site knows who she is. Or how to find out who she is. I'm always amazed at what people know on this site. There are some pretty bright people here. And I doubt I was the only Around here who lusted over that Mannix girl.
-
I thought that was the case. Waiting to see your '67 and '68.

Man, is this a fun thread to go through. Lots of laughs and some confusion. And many great memories. I'm surprised I haven't seen one of my all time favorites come up. To me the most sexy women ever, Ann Margret. There are more beautiful women in the world. But few I find as attractive as her. Also, I have a mystery that you guys might be solved for me here. In the opening titles of the Mannix TV show, for the first few seasons is a beautiful girl in a white dress, dancing/twirling away from Mannix, with her skirt flying up in the air. Does anybody have any idea who this young women might be? Its been bothering me for some time now.
