  1. Wow! Very nice Fords. I especially like the looks of the '74. I noticed that car is powered by a 292? Is that a Y-block? And what about the '82 Landau? What engine is in that? I know it's not a Y-block. Interesting, the use of the Lincoln style star hood ornament and the Lincoln wheel covers on the Landau. I also really like to interior of '82. Beautiful. Very classy. And again back to the dogs. I've determined that all the dogs around here are barking in Portuguese too. And with the proper accent. Because they sound exactly like the dogs in Brazil. Several of them have the same attitude too. I didn't know our dogs around here were so talented! Or rude. Scott
  2. I have picked mine up too when painting. Again, no problems. This has got me confused. Scott
  3. So is it a Cadillac motor always? Or is there a variation with an Olds motor? I'm still not clear on this. Scott
  4. Wow! Very nice. And very fun to see. I am a little disappointed that in your case Tulio, it's not a Ford truck of some sort. I'm more of a GM guy, so I enjoyed see it. I love vehicles like this, that are just slightly different from what we have here in U.S. By the way, the dogs in the background. Are they barking in Portuguese? Because they don't sound that much different from dogs around here. Scott
  5. I'm not a big Porsche expert. But, I do know first 911 Targa's had a removable plastic window. Don't remember if the last year for that feature was 1968 or 1969. If you were going for an early open Targa, you wouldn't have to worry about a rear window at all. Scott
  6. This would be a good opportunity to build a '50 Ford club coupe. Scott
  7. Again, why does it pop off? On the one I have, I see no reason why it should. Did they maybe change this stand somewhere along the line, so it doesn't do this now? Scott
  8. Never mind my last posting here. I don't know how I missed this. Scott
  9. Me too. I normally don't bring a camera with me to car shows. And my cell phone, which I rarely carry either, doesn't have one. Scott
  10. Very nice. I'd like to see more. Do you have more photos you could share? And welcome to the group. Scott
  11. Now that I like. Beautiful. Scott
  12. Has "Little Nash Rambler" been mentioned yet? "Beep-beep, beep-beep, his horn went Beep-beep-beep." Scott
  13. That's right. I forgot about my Pyro Cord being molded in green, until you mentioned it Mike. Scott
  14. The neatest model I ever built was 4D Vision's model of the Saturn V rocket. Great detail. Pre-painted. Easy to build. And huge when it is finished. Built mine about six months ago. I loved it. They make several other kits that interest me, and I'd like to build in the future. They offer several vehicles other than the Saturn V. But, no cars I'm sorry to say. Scott
  15. I tell the kids I work with that I'm so old, that when I went to school. I rode my dinosaur back and forth to school. Up hill both ways. In a blizzard. And in my bare feet! And now I can add that I didn't have a cat to milk when I got home. Scott
  16. Why would this pop off? Is there some kind of spring in there? I have not tried separating the upper part of the stand from its base. I really haven't figured out a good reason why I would want to do this? Am I missing something here? Scott
  17. I've been using Testors Model Master Clear Parts Cement & Window Maker for years. Work just fine. From the tackiness stand point I maybe switching to the 560 canopy glue in the future. Scott
  18. Two things I never go by in determining engine block colors from back then. Factory sales brochures and publicity photos. In the days before photographs in sales brochures, and even after, rarely were engines shown in their correct colors. Some pictures would show the engine one way on one page. And another way on the next. I'm sure a lot of engines like the gold one pictured was painted that way just for things like magazine publicity. After all a gold engine stands out better than a black one. Scott
  19. A little off subject. I was at a car show a few weeks ago were there was a T bucket with a Potvin supercharger. The first one I've ever seen in real life. A very nice guy owned the car. We talked quite a bit about it and the Potvin. One thing I was impressed with was how quiet the Potvin is when running compared to other superchargers. By the way, to keep the Potvin out in the open, where it could be seen. And to keep the old dragster look. He had a radiator and electric fan nicely setup on the back of car. At the same time he had a shorten T radiator shell up front. It looked great. Impressed the heck out of me. Scott
  20. What's this computer stuff? I'm still using a slide rule. Do you know how hard it is write these messages with a slide rule? Scott
  21. Not as bad as I expected. I'm surprised. Scott
  22. I hate to be a spoil sport here. But, I've rarely had a problem with the U.S. postal service around here. I've had more problems with FedEx and UPS. I'm happy when somebody sends me something through the mail. I think they do a good job overall. Scott
  23. I got my AMT '36 Ford built 2 months ahead of our '36 Ford contest at the November MCCM (Model Car Club of Minnesota) meeting. One less thing to worry about, and rush to build at the last minute. Scott
  24. I'm interested still in finding out the mystery to where that roof came from. And why? I'm curious about this one. Scott
  25. Been using one for about four months now. I've had no problem with mine at all. In fact I'm not sure I understand the problem being described here. I love Tamiya's paint stand. I've never found one better. Scott
