I'm sure your right. But, isn't that sad? And by the way, I don't think that is a new phenomenon. There have been dishonest people since the beginning of time. I only thing I can do is be as honest of a person as I can be. And even then that doesn't always work out perfectly. But, I keep trying, and overall I think I'm doing a pretty good job of it. I would try to get the $100 back to its rightful owner. Scott

Wow! Very nice job. I love those old clam shell tailgate GM wagons. Will never forget the first one I saw. The futuristic car features they promised us in the 50's and 60's were coming true! I know there were problems with them. But, I still think they're cool. Scott

I'm glad you clarified the name of the web site. I forgot the "car" part in Model Car Encyclopedia. But that is the right place. And the Barris mag is 1962, rather than 1961? So did he publish more than one issue? And the Barris issue Model Car Encyclopedia has makes it sound like it was the first issue. I have no idea. Scott

Oh, I forgot this was about magazines. I read all of the model magazines over Model Encyclopedia on line. But, they did not have complete set of some of the publications. It would be a lot of fun to be able to see and read complete collections from the 60's and 70's. Or before. By the way they do have the 1961 "Custom Car Models" by George Barris over at Model Encyclopedia. I think that first issue was the only one published. Anybody know anything about that? Scott

Good old Primitive Pete. They use to show us Primitive Pete cartoons in show classes still back in the 1970's. Love them. When a friend or I either use or even contemplate using the wrong tool, I still will make reference to being Primitive Pete. Scott

I guess it's like any technology. It can be used for good. Or for bad. I'm just hoping that people posting pictures of their models are using it for good. And not trying to deceive us in to believing their models are better than they really are. Scott

The posting on Photoshopping models and perverts hanging around hobby stores. More things we have to worry about? I expect people to be decent and honest. I believe most people are. Maybe I'm wrong, but I hope not. Scott

I too love the down sized Torino chassis Thunderbirds. Can't be too hard to make a '77 or '78 (forget '79, ugly grille and taillights) T-Bird from the same tooling as the Starsky and Hutch Torino. Scott

I kind of like the AMT/MPC '72 GTO. Mine isn't too bad. It's exactly what I expect from an early 70's MPC. I've never had an interest in the General Lee, so I can't say anything good or bad about that kit. Oh... One thing I really dislike about my '72 Goat kit is the exhaust system. It doesn't bother me the way it's molded to the rear axle, like other MPC kits of the day. The exhaust ends/outlets are wrong. They are not as shown on the box art model. Which is the correct setup for a '72 Goat. Was this kit changed in some way over the years, and we lost the correct exhaust system? Scott

For Harry to photoshop like he does for the magazine, that I understand and I'm okay with. But, on a site like this I want to see honest models. At the the same time, I do understand cropping and lightening up a dark photo. It's fixing things like chrome foil, wheels, paint flaws, color, etc, to me is dishonest. A magazine or a model box is one thing. A person showing off his/her work is another. Even with all of that, I'm so untech savvy, I don't know how to crop or lighten up a photo. The photos I've posted of my models here have been taken with the camera in my Ipad. I've taken much better pictures with my Kodak digital camera. But, I can't get this site to accept them. And I don't know why? Scott

OK, so the 265s of '55 and '56 are red. And the '57 283s are the start of the Chevy orange engines? I always thought Chevy orange came in '58 along with the 348? Not the first or the last time I'll be wrong about something. Scott
