  1. I like the Plymouth better.
  2. The above is the reason I'm not a big fan modern cars. They are greatest cars ever, in terms functionality. They run better. Last longer. Are much more economical and reliable. But they all, to my eyes anyway, look too much a like. This last summer I bought a fairly new 2017 Chevy Cruze, with only 14,000 miles on it. Metallic Black. It's a very nice car. I love the way it does what does. It even looks pretty good to me. I like the car a lot. But... I see there is a Chevy in that group of cars above. I can't tell what kind of Chevy that is. Is it a Cruze or a Malibu? And I drive a Cruze! I should be able to tell. Sad.
  3. I was surprised to see the above photo. I never noticed before how much these two from the front ends look similar. I suspect that the Porsche had that look first? If so, it's another good job of Japanese copying. Having these two come up behind you on the highway, you'd have to look twice to tell which one it is.
  4. What's the point of the above picture in the context of this thread? To compare the Mustang to the Transit? I don't see a lot of similarities between the two.
  5. I'm thinking your first one feels more right. The above just does look quite right.
  6. I can't resist? Here are few more. I'd especially be interested in hearing your thoughts on last two. The first two are too easy.
  7. Opel GT and Corvette. Both GM products. And Celica? Like the European Ford Capri, the Japanese answer to the immensely popular American Ford Mustang, and other like pony cars.
  8. Here are two photos I found on the web a few years back that I found interesting. I'd like to see what you guys think. And have you seen any others like them?
  9. My gut is telling me that I think you may have found it. It looks the closest so far. Obviously a '58, '59, or '60 Lincoln Continental Mark III, IV, or V? But, who made the toy? Any better information or photos on it?
  10. Very nice. My two of my all time favorite Japanese cars. I just ordered the Hasegawa Toyota 2000GT on eBay today. I have a Hasegawa Datsun 240Z with the shorter, more commonly seen in this country, nose. Despite being curbsides, I like Hasegawa model kits. As seen in your examples, they build up very nicely.
  11. From what I heard, as I did not make it myself, the Canadian contingent was missed at the NNL North here a couple of months ago. Believe it or not, we like you guys. Let's hope things get back to normal, where we can have our meet at the normal time. The month of May. Rather than October. And they will allow you guys to sneak back in across the border. If I remember correctly, you've got family down here too, Wayne? That alone has got to have been a problem.
  12. Interesting. Maybe? I don't remember having a Continental Mark II police car. But, I don't remember having any toy police car that size. The only thing missing the the above is the side lettering.
  13. In August I'll be lining up to get my 1971 Jungle Jim Camaro Funny Car. I assume it will be a repop of the old Revell kit. And I know, everybody tells me what a piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that kit is. But, it was one of first, and one of the few, funny cars I ever built back in the day. This time, even if it's molded in same blue plastic, as before. I'll be painting this one. And hopefully doing a better job with it than I did back in 1971.
  14. I agree. A good haul. Some fun stuff in there. Even that blue Lindberg roadster. A very simple, but, in my opinion, kool looking kit.
  15. Like several people here. Japanese cars really have not turned me on overall. They build good cars. But, the cars in general have no souls. The Datsun roadsters of the 60's, and they're good old 240Z being two exceptions. And I've always kind of liked the first generation Celica too. But, there is Japanese one car I love, and have always lusted over. The Toyota 2000GT.
  16. To this day, I'm still known for wearing hats. I'm sure when I've seen you guys at the different NNL Norths we've meet at, that I had one either on my head or near by. Mainly my Le Chapeau Tilley Airflow (Handcrafted with Canadian Persnicketness. Their words, not mine.). Or in the winter time, my Deer Stocker. A hat I bought from a vendor in England. But was made in China ?. A very nice Deer Stocker designed in England, from a shop in England, but made in China? That was a little disappointing at the time. But, it makes for an interesting story now. By the way, the next time we meet, remind me. I have a somewhat humorous story relating to measuring my head for the Deer Stocker.
  17. So far, two good guesses. But, in doing a web search for either Bandai or Cragstan didn't lead me to a match so far. All the toy police cars I'm seeing of either brand, black with a white roof, tend to have white doors also. In the case of Bandai's, white hoods and deck lids. The I'm holding in my hand, has an all black body, a white roof, and what looks like a printed word on the side. So I'm assuming it's a police car. Nothing I can find by Bandai or Cragstan match up. Great leads though.
  18. Okay? So what do I do when I get there? Can anybody buy one? I see no info on how or where to buy one. Or anything on cost.
