  1. Very nice. My two of my all time favorite Japanese cars. I just ordered the Hasegawa Toyota 2000GT on eBay today. I have a Hasegawa Datsun 240Z with the shorter, more commonly seen in this country, nose. Despite being curbsides, I like Hasegawa model kits. As seen in your examples, they build up very nicely.
  2. From what I heard, as I did not make it myself, the Canadian contingent was missed at the NNL North here a couple of months ago. Believe it or not, we like you guys. Let's hope things get back to normal, where we can have our meet at the normal time. The month of May. Rather than October. And they will allow you guys to sneak back in across the border. If I remember correctly, you've got family down here too, Wayne? That alone has got to have been a problem.
  3. Interesting. Maybe? I don't remember having a Continental Mark II police car. But, I don't remember having any toy police car that size. The only thing missing the the above is the side lettering.
  4. In August I'll be lining up to get my 1971 Jungle Jim Camaro Funny Car. I assume it will be a repop of the old Revell kit. And I know, everybody tells me what a piece of BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH that kit is. But, it was one of first, and one of the few, funny cars I ever built back in the day. This time, even if it's molded in same blue plastic, as before. I'll be painting this one. And hopefully doing a better job with it than I did back in 1971.
  5. I agree. A good haul. Some fun stuff in there. Even that blue Lindberg roadster. A very simple, but, in my opinion, kool looking kit.
  6. Like several people here. Japanese cars really have not turned me on overall. They build good cars. But, the cars in general have no souls. The Datsun roadsters of the 60's, and they're good old 240Z being two exceptions. And I've always kind of liked the first generation Celica too. But, there is Japanese one car I love, and have always lusted over. The Toyota 2000GT.
  7. To this day, I'm still known for wearing hats. I'm sure when I've seen you guys at the different NNL Norths we've meet at, that I had one either on my head or near by. Mainly my Le Chapeau Tilley Airflow (Handcrafted with Canadian Persnicketness. Their words, not mine.). Or in the winter time, my Deer Stocker. A hat I bought from a vendor in England. But was made in China ?. A very nice Deer Stocker designed in England, from a shop in England, but made in China? That was a little disappointing at the time. But, it makes for an interesting story now. By the way, the next time we meet, remind me. I have a somewhat humorous story relating to measuring my head for the Deer Stocker.
  8. So far, two good guesses. But, in doing a web search for either Bandai or Cragstan didn't lead me to a match so far. All the toy police cars I'm seeing of either brand, black with a white roof, tend to have white doors also. In the case of Bandai's, white hoods and deck lids. The I'm holding in my hand, has an all black body, a white roof, and what looks like a printed word on the side. So I'm assuming it's a police car. Nothing I can find by Bandai or Cragstan match up. Great leads though.
  9. Okay? So what do I do when I get there? Can anybody buy one? I see no info on how or where to buy one. Or anything on cost.
  10. Another great review. He even found a use for the squirrel!
  11. Boy, that first paragraph is a little productive. Where that leading? And why do I take offense to it?
  12. The people's opinions here have been great. I have no problem with that. I agree with almost all of them. It's just the title of the thread I'm tried of. "AMT kits suck!" It's like to thread being titled "Your grandma is ugly." It may be true. But, I wouldn't want to see it every time I went to a certain website I enjoy frequenting. AMT do not suck. And I'm tired of hearing that they do. That's why I wish this thread would just go away.
  13. A cousin sent me this photo a couple of days ago, of my one of my sisters and I standing on his parent's front step back in about 1963. Both he and I are curious about the toy car I'm holding in my left hand in the picture. He thinks it might be a Husky '59 Buick police car. I don't remember Husky toy cars being that big? I thought they were more the size of Corgis. Does anybody else out there have a better idea of what it might be? I'm also curious about what the box might be under my right arm?
  14. I'm tired as of late, that the first thing I see when I go into this site, then in to General Automotive Talk, is "AMT kits suck!" In general I like AMT kits. And I find the title to this thread a bit offensive. Do some AMT kits suck? Yes, of course some do. But, most don't. It's a brand that has brought a lot joy into my life for better than 55 years now. And I'm tired of seeing the title "AMT kits suck!" Every time I come here lately. I believe from what I reading here, most people here feel the same way as I do about AMT and other kits. And I'm having no problem with the general comments being made in this thread. I'm just tired of seeing the TITLE of this thread pop up all the time! I find it offensive.
  15. Thank for sharing this. I love seeing what came in those old AMT kits.
  16. Pretty darn nice.
  17. Cool!
  18. Beautiful.
  19. What is it?
  20. Nice. I like those big birds.
  21. There are some Polar Lights, and even Lindberg kits that are pretty good. Now Palmer and Premier kits are another story. They do suck. Despite that, if the right Palmer kit comes along I'll buy it (read '72 or '73 Thunderbird).
  22. Here's one I've wanted for a while. Not an easy one to track down. But, as of this afternoon's mail, I have one.
  23. Another great review from Chris. The guy is phenomenal. I love watching his builds. Rather sit there and complain about things, he builds some beautiful models. Oh, he'll tell you if there is a problem. But, then works on solution and tells you how he fixed it. I don't want my builds to be exact copies of his. But, using several his techniques, and some of his inspiration my models get a little bit better every time I work on one. Thank you Chris. By the way, I love his playful imagination. The story of delivering the red phone up to Wayne Manor. And he found a reasonable use for the squirrel!
