Big V8s
unclescott58 replied to unclescott58's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
I should update the photos on the “little” 283 motors. I’m actually building two of them. The clear plastic one. And a non-transparent, need to paint version. Both are quite aways along. Basically just need to paint and assemble the fuel injection units, to finish them up. -
Very kool. With a capital “K”.

It looks pretty nice. I like it.
-
It's not my style or taste. But, I do like quality of the work you've done on this model. Very nice.
-
Another nice job Michelle. I like how your skills seem to improve with each new build.
-
Lovely. I dig the old style look of this one. A great job.
-
Wow! It looks great Gary. Nice job.
-
Sweet! You did a beautiful job on this kit. I'm impressed and like what I'm seeing.

The above is a wonderful kit. It shows what a great job JoHan could do designing kits. Plus, I like their choice of subject here. That is one stunningly beautiful coupe. Both in real life, and model form. Enjoy Mark. I hope you show us your model when your done.

I remember the kit, after seeing the above photos. And you guys are right, I must have put in the wrong spelling, since I could not find anything about it on the web.

Some wonderful additions to my collection. Both designed by one of greatest guys out there, Tom Daniel. First is the Monogram kit the Li'l Van. I've always wanted a model of T.D.'s Sand Crab. I've had no luck running one of those down. I guess after all of these years, the Li'l Van is as close as I'll can get. This is a re-pop from 1996. The book, Tom Daniel's, How To Draw & Design Cars, The "Old School" Way, is brand new. It was just published this year. And the book is exactly what it says. A very detailed guide on how to draw cars. Some of you may recall the 1960 book, You Can Draw Cars, by Bill Jenks. Auto World sold copies for years. (I got mine back in 1971 or '72.) It's vey similar. It's just bigger in overall size, and has the kool artwork of Tom Daniel, instead of the kool artwork by Bill Jenks. Plus after 60 years, Jenks book is getting a little hard to find. And, a few things have changed in both style, and techniques in those 60 years. I'm excited to see that Tom Daniel noted on his cover, that his new book is "Volume 1". That's good news. Even with both his and Jenks' books I may never become the automotive designer I always wanted to be (I have no drawing talent what so ever), I love these books. And look forward to Volume 2, just to sit and drool over Tom Daniel's great artwork.

It’s very much is well worth the money. It and 911 engine are two of the nicest kits of this type I’ve ever built. I love them both. -
Very nice. But that’s not a 300B. The Bs were built in ‘56. Yours is a ‘55. That would be called a C-300. Like I say though, nice C-300.

I like the pipes. That looks really kool.
-
Kool. A classy way to haul stuff. I like it.
-
Very neat. The first true automobile. Several years ago I got to see one of the full-replicas that Benz built for their 100th anniversary. Very cool. I’ve been thinking about buying and building the kit ever since I saw the kit became available. I may have to pick one up.

It’s ugly, but I like it. It’s kool in a strange way. I like the creative thought process in building something like this. -

Beautiful. But, I expected no less from you, Mr. Boyd. I still love the looks of those '73-'74 Road Runners. -
Slick. Ready for the show circuit. I like those old style kustoms.
-
Kool. With a capital K. Very nice.
