  1. Nice & clean. Well done on a first time effort.
  2. My house wouldn't hold all those! Great stock pile.
  3. Hey Evilone, your PM box is full. I got your PM. Thanks for the offer, but nothing's for sale/trade presently.
  4. It's slow again. What was wrong with the old forum site that it got switched to this one? I never noticed problems there.
  5. Here's my lot. Pretty much buy what I know I'll build and want for parts. After I put them all in this new rack, the wife jokingly says "I liked it better when you kept them all hidden". Like the rest of us, I've added a few since.
  6. I'll take a stab at it. I've never been to an NNL event, but seeing that there are not judges, and the builds are not judged, pretty much eliminates it as a contest IMHO. People show up to show off their builds based on what I've seen in the magazines etc. It's very much like a car show to me. The cars (locally anyway) are not judged, but all the people coming through the door get to vote on what car they liked best. Note, it's still called a Car SHOW. Bottom line, 6 of 1 or 1/2 dozen of the other. It's in the perspective of the individual On a similar/contrary note, the Olympic Games would be a place where awards are given for 1st=3rd and are judged, yet the Olympics are seen as a "world event" not a contest.
  7. Most recently - Ebay - AMT 50 Chevy pickup 2 - Lindberg 61 Impalas LHS - F&F Toyota Supra TRUCKS 99 silverado 79 Cadillac lowrider
  8. This was a "good show" and I don't enter contests to win, but more so, to admire other's work in person and actually talk to them and have fun. The guy that used to judge the contest was a former hobby shop owner (retired), but he's since passed away. The guy that did the judging last year was also good (I assume he did this year as well). The guys that won, deserved to win in all honesty.
  9. First off - this is not a complaint. Last Saturday was our local Hobbytown show. When we got back, the awards are being handed out etc. and I find that (in my personal judgement anyway) the worst of my models takes third place in "auto street". Mind you, I've got other builds sitting next to it with better finishes and overall build quality etc. but this one gets the award the others don't (including other builders who have FANTASTIC builds). The only reason I can figure is because it was a t-top Z28 that you could actually see the interior of the car, the flocking, and dashboard detail I did. So my question would be to anyone who judges - What makes one model stand out above the rest? Or how do you guys judge? In this case, it certainly wasn't the finish the car had (which I've read is a huge percentage in placing a model at any show).
  10. I have an eclectic taste for building. Here's my one and only lowrider to date. I was in a slump and my friend challenged me to build a lowrider to match the diecast lowrider bike I had on my workbench. I did have a ton of fun and tried a new technique for masking my first attempt at flames since returning to the hobby 4 years ago. The wheels are Hoppin' Hydros.
  11. I wish I could see this, but for some reason recently, I can't view any pics linked via Fotki. It's agrivating.

    40 Ford Modified

That's on the "to do" list. I may build a base for it too, but undecided as of yet. I have to do a bit of research on these cars as well. THANK YOU for the comments guys.

    40 Ford Modified

This kit went together well for the most part. The main fit issues I had were with the roll cage and the headers were an absolute mess. I also had to trim the driver's bucket to accomodate the narrow front of the body shell. I can have my wife talk to your wife. Also, love the avatar featuring "DUEL".
  14. This was a Christmas present from my wife and kids. She does a great job of finding interesting subjects that I normally wouldn't buy for myself. It's a short-track racer built box stock. It's my first experience with a kit like this, so the roll cage and a couple other things were learning experiences. It was a fun, quick, build to get me out of a rut.

    Great work! Keep it up!

Bob Dively Model Aircraft Inc. is the only thing on the container besides "Liquid Masking Film". I bought it from my LHS Hobbytown USA about 2 years ago.

Two words - LIQUID MASK. I love the stuff. Thank you all for the kind comments. This is a simple and fun kit and goes together rather well. It'd be a great kit for a beginner or someone looking for a stress free build.
  18. My friend Mark and I entered in to a simple build-off using the Revell kit. I opted for the stock route, and tried to keep it in the late 70's vibe with earth tone colors etc. The only after market items we allowed each other were flocking, distro wiring, and wheels. I used Shabo tire decals from Strada Sports. Thanks for looking.
  19. Great paint and decal work Bobby! That's a fun build to look at.
  20. Looks fantastic James. That car brings back some memories. I had a 1/64 diecast car of that one as a kid! I love that car and his Mountain Dew Regal as well. Fantastic work as usual James.
  21. GOOD FOR YOU!!! I've found one of my holiest of grailes a year & a half ago. I had the opportunity to buy a second this past fall, but didn't have the money to do it.
  22. Just bought the INFINI=T reissue from my LHS. It'll look nice sitting next to my Undertaker.
  23. Good for you! I bought a Pace with my tax return and I couldn't be happier. It's the lowest priced model, but I've not a single complaint.
  24. She'll be surpassing her dad pretty soon! It's been fun watching her skills get better Sean!
