  1. My son loves Tinker Toys, Lego's etc. so I thought I'd try the model building thing with him. Here's a couple that he's built with Dad over the last three years. AMT Slammer's Plymouth age 3. He saw me building and wanted to build a car too. I had other plans for it, but 10 pieces of plastic made it a perfect model to get him going. I helped a lot, but he was quite happy when it was together and that's the main thing. 96 Chevy Tahoe snap kit age 4. Revell Germany easy snap kit back hoe. I assembled the boom/bucket as it's a bit much for a 5 year old. The rest he did with some guidance from me.

    '78 Monte Carlo

That's another personal favorite of mine from your collection Sean. Never get tired of this one.

    Tamiya Supra

Looks fantastic Sean! I've always liked that one of yours.
  4. My little stock pile in the basement. Nothing special. I only buy what I intend to build or what interests me.
  5. While coming back from the airport Wednesday with my coworker, we spied something "odd" coming back in to town. As we stared at it coming towards us and going past in the opposite direction, we realized it was a new Dodge Challenger wrapped body skins to hide what it was. I know Consumer Reports and others have done cold weather testing up here in North Dakota in the past during one of our lovely --30 below (--50 with wind chill) cold snaps like we had the last two weeks. It was a nice thing to really make us smile on a sunny, 20 below zero day.
  6. Both are GREAT pieces of work. The deathmobile is pure comedy! Makes me laugh just thinking about when they drove the car in to the garage and hit the wall! The Nemo is fantastic as well. The scroll work on the front definitely looks difficult, but you've done a fantastic job with making it look right.
  7. Looks like the new Audi R8. I've only seen one built up. Real.
  8. I like it. I'm not too "up" on comic books etc. Is this out of your head or have something to do with the character standing by the car?
  9. CLEAN build. I love the stock look as well.
  10. Man Lyle, you've created the total package without going over the top. Everything ties together beautifully.
  11. Beautiful lady! White like that is very classy.
  12. Hands down the HOTTEST Revell bike kit I've seen!

    Porsche 944 Turbo

Thank you for the kind words guys. They are very appreciated.
  14. You're right Walt. Mine cost me $10. $8 was for the two pack of 100W flourescent bulbs. $1.50 for the tissue paper and .50 for the construction paper. I still need to mess with the lighting and possibly have a third out front or over the top as evident by the dark picture of the Skyline. But it does work quite well and best of all, it's cheap.
  15. Absolutely superb!
  16. The "then with the now" look really fits. Great idea.
  17. This one was drug out. First, the clear sprue got lost for the entire kit. I still don't know what I, or my kids possibly, did with it. Then I broke my hand and that put the building on hold until it healed. Anyway, I got it completed, and now have to find the master cylinder and fluid container that flew out on to the floor upon final assembly....
  18. This one's finally back on the bench after a huge stall. First, the clear sprue was lost from the kit. I still have no idea what the kids (or I) did with it. Revell customer service came through after a month wait. Add to this a broken hand and well... yeah building took a break. That aside, I finally got some time tonight to complete the inner body and get everything standing on the wheels. Just some decals, touch ups, polishing, and minor final assembly left. It'll be good to get this one complete.
  19. If I wanted to look at a kit in the sealed box, I'd have left it at the store.
  20. I've always liked the look of this car, but never bought the kit. Great work!
  21. I'm leaning towards smaller scale model.
  22. My son's green Power Ranger was looking a bit worse for wear. He's been asking me the last couple days to paint him (inventory at work = no time). So, after I got home from working on inventory, we went downstairs and proceeded to mix green and white to get the appropriate shade of "that's close enough Dad" green and proceeded to put the diamonds back on his boots and overspray the white that was scratched off his belt and shoulders, and touch up the red and black on his belt buckle and chest. Now I'm being told that "he needs gold on his chest".... see you later. Gotta go paint a Power Ranger! Oh, before I go, has anyone else ever used modeling skills or had "that one thing" on the workbench to fix something around the house or for a significant other?
  23. Something tells me large scale model with this one. Then again, I've been known to be wrong in the past.
  24. It's ugly for sure. OK, OK, I'm sure my tastes would turn other people's stomach's as well.
