Ya, those 500s can even blow the modern 450s out of the water! I think that a 300 would be the magic number for moto, just because it can be quick, without tiring you out as bad as a 500 does. The vibrations get a little crazy!
-
Oh ya! Mike winning the heat race was wild enough, not to mention his incredible holeshot, and then Kroc winning the main just set off the night! Shoot, even the 250s had some great action, with Anderson's last lap pass. I was really impressed with Reed though, he proved all the doubters wrong and pulled off a podium. For whatever reason I am unable to quote posts, so hopefully Greg Cullinan sees this.

That kx looks awesome Dan! Nothing like the raw two stroke power. The bike in my avatar is a CR500, makes an awesome hillclimb bike!
-
That looks great! Just out of curiosity, what type of bikes did you race Gregg?

Early Christmas Present I didn't ask for.

After reading threads like this a few years ago, I decided to put a simple zip tie around the knife handle. It works the same as the tape trick, but it is a little more solid. Either works great, it just depends on what you have lying around. -
Michael Schumacher in a coma after a ski accident

That is terrible to hear, hopefully he can pull through. -
That's a cool conversion, looks like it came out really nice.

Agreed. Thanks for organizing the whole thing Nick, it went really well and I think everyone enjoyed themselves. Congrats to everyone who finished and good luck for next year!

You're going to need a big tube of glue! -
That's funny, I built one of these years ago in the same color! Looks awesome though, it came out better than mine.
-
Ha, I'm dumb and luckily another member sent me a pm telling me it was there. Not sure how I missed that!

Any updates on this? If we are not going to do a vote that's fine, I just wanted to know what the plan is.
-
You don't want to know. . .
-
Cool! That sounded pretty good!

I think that both options could work well. I see the advantages to multiple rounds of voting, but I also see the advantages of having a single round as well. Whatever we do, a decision needs to be made so we can get the voting underway. I'm fine with whatever is chosen, I'm just an impatient person!

I wouldn't have though that candy paint would look good, but after seeing it, I'm all for it! It turned out awesome.

I'm so sorry to hear about the year you have had jphillips. I can't imagine how tough it must be, but please try to stay positive and keep pushing on. I'm sure everyone here is pulling for you, so just remember that better things lay ahead, and we all hate to hear about things like this happening to good people. I wish you the best of luck going forward, and here's to a happier 2014.

Perfect, that will work out great! I was thinking we would just leave the last spot blank on all of them and have four cars per section, but I actually like how you have it set up much better since there are 23 cars. I think that would work out really well since it is a level playing field now.
-
Why don't we just have four builds per section, and then have the final option just be an "undecided" option? That way, all of the sections would be about the same size, and people would not have to vote in every category to be able to submit their votes. I believe we had 21 completed builds, so that would be four sections with four builds each, and one section would have five builds. In saying this I'm assuming the poll function requires five possible options per section, but if this is not true, then just disregard this idea.

How many of you participate in contests ?
JM485 replied to cobraman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I try to enter the ones I can attend. I'm motivated by competition, so for me it is fun to compete against other builders and see what they have created. At the same time though, I still like NNLs even though it is not a contest, so I guess I just like showing off my work! It gives you a good feeling when someone stops to take a picture of your build, and makes you proud of your work. -
Thanks for all the effort you put into this Nick, I really enjoyed building my viper and the competition pushed me to do my best work! It was very well run and I think everyone did a great job on their builds, best of luck to everyone.

My new favourite car...

That is a very nice looking car. That carbon fiber heat shield is a work of art all by itself. -
2 new Bumblebee's

Please tell me that isn't the new Camaro. Is there a vomiting emoticon on this site, because we might need one if that is it.
