My wife and I are HUGE fans of the old Robin Hood TV series- we have the whole series on DVD and watch 3-4 episodes a night. Consequently, we've gotten into archery and have 6 vintage longbows and a little archery range set up in the backyard. That's also how I discovered the horn cups, as the outlaws would be drinking from them while hanging out at the outlaw camp in Sherwood Forest. Some writers of the show were members of the "Hollywood 10" who were blacklisted during the McCarthy era and moved to Britain.

The Revell raceway in Inglewood, CA (I guess it was technically in Westchester) was the biggest commercial 1/24 scale raceway, featuring six 8-lane tracks. I think I got 30 min. for my .50 IIRC There was also another raceway called "Checkered Flag" that had two 8-lane tracks and was located just a couple of blocks west of "The Big Donut" on Manchester Blvd, which is now called "Randy's Donuts" I still have my Hoffman slotcar box from the '60s -
The little horn cups themselves are also called a "dram", or sometimes a "beaker", although beakers are usually a bit larger My friend's father is German and also refers to a shot of liquor as a "dram"

There was a story on the local news last night about some mid-20s creep in Eugene who beat the heck out of a little terrier puppy in public being sentenced to 30 days in the county jail (yay!) The puppy is recovering at a local vet's office and is doing okay, the vet has been deluged with calls offering to adopt the little guy.

I did "toy testing" at Mattel when I was a kid, basically they put you in a room with a new toy that hadn't been released yet and observed you playing with it through a one-way window. The toy I tested was Sizzlers, it was fun! Afterwards, they gave me a Hot Wheels car. -
Pretty sure I've seen that at my local state-run liquor store- I'll have to check it out next time I'm there. Years ago my mom gave me a bottle of 18 year-old Glenfiddich that was pretty dang good to my taste, although I'm not a scotch afficionado by any means- I mostly drink 100-proof bourbon Last summer we went on an Alaska cruise and I just happened to be in the right place at the right time to score invitations to a whiskey-tasting session sponsored by Johnny Walker- they had a bottle of "The John Walker" on display, but at ~$3,000 a bottle of course we didn't get to sample that, although we did get the blue label which was my favorite of the 8 whiskeys we tried. We got there early while the girl was setting up and got the first 3 seats so we had the first pick of the samples- naturally I would pick the fullest one, lol. After about 4 samples, the British guy who was sitting next to me held up a really full one and said "you missed this one, mate!"

Thanks! I have 3 more but that one is my favorite. They're made from Scottish highland cattle horn. I'm watching a lot of 3 on eBay right now

Ethanol lowers your mileage, and leans your fuel mixture which makes your engine run hotter. -

I've used TS-13 over Tamiya acrylic without any problems, but only over small touch-ups. -
