You want to paint it silver first, and use something that will stand up to the lexan paint- I've used Pactra RC car paint that way with good results (candy purple over silver, then clearcoated with duplicolor clear)
You can have 8 carbs or fuel injection, but not both. I'm using the same motor in my '48 Ford custom- I used the 8 carbs and made aluminum velocity stacks and it looks pretty wicked. The plug wires are shrouded so that makes it real easy to wire, just need to drill a hole in the ends of the shrouds big enough to glue 4 wires in. The front cover has a nice flat bottom that makes mounting pretty easy.
Howdy! I'm looking forward to seeing some of your motorcycle builds- I was also on escale although I haven't been a regular visitor there for about a year or so.
I mostly read technical literature these days, but I used to enjoy Bradbury, Heinlein, Poe, Hunter Thompson, Richard Brautigan, and Rick Siemen (aka "Super Hunky")
I got a little portable reel-to-reel recorder in about 1966
The first thing I recorded was the sound of the toilet flushing
Later I used it to record my experiments with my Gilbert chemistry set
I had a dream one time where this guy was throwing darts at me and one hit me right in the elbow, which hurt like heck. He continued to throw darts at me with me dodging them until his supply was exhausted and the darts were stuck in the ground all around me- I gathered them up and had them all in one hand forming a big round circle of darts, which flew from my hand like they were rocket-propelled and hit him in the head and neck. Then I flew away.
I used PlastiKote white sandable primer on my '53 Victoria that was molded in red and didn't get any bleed-through. In fact, the top is just primer that I wetsanded and clearcoated.
I used to go to IPMS meetings, they're mostly focused on airplanes but there were always a few car kits that people took in trade that were really cheap.
+1, except I use Testors flat black enamel for the undersides of hoods, engine compartments, and wheelwells because any overspray can be easily removed with a swab and mineral spirits without affecting the lacquer body paint
