  1. That looks pretty good, alright I'm curious as to what that costs
  2. Jim Seals and Dash Crofts were in the Champs
  3. Carl's Jr. had a pastrami-topped burger sometime back IIRC
  4. I generally spend more on paint than on kits
  5. I only got .50 a week allowance and wasn't good at saving, so if I wanted something I'd wash cars for .50 apiece. A guy down the street had a Porsche and would pay me $1.00 but I had to dry the car with a chamois, which he provided.
  6. '78 Ford Fiestas could be had with really large houndstooth pattern seats- I have a couple out in the shed that still have some fabric left
  7. I don't think I could eat two Costco hotdogs
  8. Pretty hard to beat the $1.50 hotdog/polish sausage with a drink at Costco
  9. I've eaten C-rations, mostly on hunting trips with my dad I actually liked the canned fruitcake
  10. Unless things have changed in recent years, it was the lowest grade of beef approved for human consumption
  11. I had an interesting pizza at a place right across the street from the site of the St. Valentine's Day massacre- I forget the name of the place, it was like Old Town Pizza or something similar. Anyway, the "pizza" came in an earthenware bowl with a baked crust on top, then you turned the bowl upside-down on a plate and levered off the crust, unleashing a torrent of molten gooey cheese, sauce and meat which of course you had to eat with a fork. It was pretty dang good!
  12. I'm at a loss as to which Steely Dan song references double-sided tape and/or toothpicks
  13. Are you perhaps shaking it so hard that the ball inside is making those dents? I've never seen anything like that
  14. You shouldn't need to clearcoat Testors One Coat lacquer unless you want to wetsand and polish the finish
  15. That's how they're supposed to be
  16. I have no idea what that is, but it looks intriguing
  17. I used to eat dried cuttlefish when I was stationed in Hawaii It's pretty good but gives you really bad breath
  18. I saw that video too- pretty gnarly!
  19. RIT will dye almost anything- I used to dye nylatron HO slotcar chassis with it I've used actual automotive tint film and Tamiya "smoke" to tint windows in the past- the tint film looks the most realistic
  20. I use a little watercolor tray and put a little paint in one of the wells and a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and a few drops of water in another, then add a little of the thinning mixture to the paint as needed while I brush-paint. It really helps to minimize the "rollup" and "clump" caused by the strong drying agent in Tamiya acrylic.
  21. I used a .011" guitar string to paint in the colored segments on the photo-etched emblems on my '53 Ford- a straight pin was too big
  22. Used 32" TVs go pretty cheap around here, seems everybody wants the huge TVs nowadays One of my neighbors put a 32" Proscan out by the curb with a "FREE" sign on it a few months back so I grabbed it for a spare (32" is the largest TV that will fit in my entertainment center)
  23. When I build a kit nowadays, I usually spend twice as much on paint as on the kit
