Thanks for the compliments everyone! While I do like the movie car itself, I just had to put my own spin on it.

That actually made me chuckle, I don't know if I've heard that one before. Thanks Bob. I had a vision for this kit and went with it, and pretty much nailed what I was going for. This kit is a good foundation to build into something of your own. Grab one and have fun! And yes, I agree, as builders we are our own worst critics. Think it comes naturally in this hobby.

Started off as Dom's GTX, but had to build it my way. I felt like I was never going to complete this one as I started it back in November. I dropped in a Iceman Collections Hellcat engine for some serious motivation. Fitting it into the car took some work, with all the pulleys on this thing, there was no way the k-frame was going to work. So, I scratched in a coilover type suspension and new engine cradle. In the process, ended up having to flip the oil pan around with the sump in back for clearance. Other mods underneath are subframe connectors, front and rear torque boxes, aluminum tube drive shaft, and parts box exhaust and rear shocks. Lastly, the front chin spoiler was also scratched. Under the hood resides a larger radiator with electric fans. While I don't mind the wheels/tires it comes with, I ditched those and slapped on some classic 5 spokes from Jay's Resin. Paint is Model Master Flame Red. I wish my camera would pick up the color better, it really is more of a pure bright red than what this shows. Interior is Tamiya White. Lastly, some Keith Marks decals rounded out the build. Unfortunately had a couple snafu's during final assembly and buggered up the paint in a couple spots, but cleaned them up best I could and trucked on. Eagle eyes might spot them. Also, the PE "supercharged" on the right side coil pack cover broke on me. Overall really happy with the build and was a fun (sometimes frustrating) challenge getting it all dialed in. Next build is going to be a straight forward easy one though! Thanks for looking and any comments/questions.

The more I look at this, the more I like! Love those stacks, and the hood locks. Great take on this kit, and many well deserved congrats! What's the bronze color on the wheels?
-
Thanks Bill. I do believe Keith Marks made a set for this car, but it sounds like he is closing up shop and may not be available anymore. I do believe the ones on mine are Cady's but are probably even harder to find nowadays.

That is one excellent looking build! Paint and decal work is beautifully done, as is that killer Hemi and all it's detail.

Very clean build and great photos, could pass as the real deal.

Many thanks guys. I noticed the lug nuts needed some silver dropped on them, so I've addressed that this weekend.

Those are both excellent builds! -
Thanks a bunch guys. Glad I finally got this one put together, and I love these cars too. Oldsmobile made some great rides back in the day.

Tom, that is one fantastic build! Colors are gorgeous and excellent chrome trim. I've never really had much interest in this kit, but now you've got me thinking otherwise.

AMT 2021 Dodge Charger R/T in Dark Green Metallic.

Beautiful build of the Charger, Craig. Even in my favorite color for these (well, tied with Octane Red). Thanks for sharing those experiences during the build. Gotta get mine started one of these days... -
Finally, my first completion of 2025. This one was started by my Dad back in the late 1980's, I believe, and he never got around to finishing it. It's a Johan '70 442 converted to a Rallye 350, albeit not completely accurate or stock. Overall I'd say it was 75-80% of the way finished. Sharing a pic of what I started with. It had a few missing/broken parts that I sourced from another Johan 442. Decals are most likely Fred Cady's, which have yellowed some over time. He did scratch build the hood scoops, and front & rear spoilers. I have no idea what brand paint the yellow is. As you can see, it doesn't have the right grille, I believe the kit one was missing and he swapped in a 71 or 72 unit. Basically, I finished up the engine and underhood, added some wiring as well. A quick and simple painting of chassis bits, and some touch ups in the interior, and I called those good. The faces of the side mirrors were one of the parts missing, so I made some out of plastic stock. This was a fun and rewarding little side project while being in the middle of my current main project. Glad I got around to finishing it up, and love it still has a bit of that "survivor" look to it. Thanks for looking and any comments/questions.

Faded pic from 1984. That's me pulling the wagon, with my brother riding and the neighbor kid pushing. Our '68 F100 in the background. Dad was doing some bodywork to it at that time as someone had sideswiped it earlier in the year. -

What a great looking build, as always, Chuck. -
Stunning work all around!

Great job on those decals, Bill. Those were a pain, for me anyways. Very sharp box stock build.

I'm planning on building it, but if I'd change my mind I'll let you know.

Super sweet build. That Starliner chassis is such a huge improvement. Love the look with those hub caps, might just have to do the same whenever I build mine.

Sounds good. I'll cut out both 440 and 440+6 non background ones for you. The GTX callouts are yours too if you want. Shoot me a PM with your address and I'll send them out as soon as I can.

No actual work, but dug out this one and cleaned it up with some dish soap and water as she was a little dusty. This was a build my dad had started many years ago and never finished. It's a Johan 70 442 that he made into a reasonable Rallye 350. Some of the decals have yellowed but not much one can do about that. I do remember he scratch built the hood scoops, rear spoiler, and the lower front spoiler which isn't seen in the picture. I think the grille was missing in this one, so he substituted in a 71 (or 2?) unit. Not going to go bonkers with it, just some paint detailing and finishing up the engine and other stuff underhood. It is missing a few parts, but got another kit that can cough up those parts. I'm kinda stuck at the moment on my current project waiting on paint, so thought this would make for a good in-between project.

Now that has to be about the best looking build of this kit I've ever seen. You wrestled this monster of a kit into submission beautifully. I absolutely love the color choice. I, too, have one in my stash but never had the guts to start it, and might never will!
