Looking good, Clay. I had a bear of a time getting mine to sit right. I wound up cutting the rear axle from the springs, adding lowering blocks and re- attatching the springs. Not to hijack, but here's one I finished in '07 (and I need to take some newer photos of this guy).

what did you do while the board was down?
Harold replied to envious8420's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Working on my New Year's resolution- start knocking out stalled projects. I now have a flamed '71 T- Bird waiting for clearcoat, a two toned '60 Galaxie waiting for a clearcoat, did a thrash on a '57 Chrysler chassis (the reason it sat unfinished for almost five years)and a Polar Lights Coronet ragtop that'll finally be finished this week. I don't know why the PL Coronet has had so many brickbats thrown at it. Comparing it to pictures in Collectible Automobile and research I've done online, this car is a lot more accurate than I expected (and it sure is purty in a dark metallic brown). -
I don't really know what to call this rant!

If NASCAR is supposedly not racing, how come its attracting drivers from different continents? -
Beautiful work on your Buick . Are they driving to a Dead concert, or just deadheading back from a delivery?
-
Beautiful job on your Rebel . Too bad Johan dropped the ball and depicted the car with a torque tube instaed of an open driveshaft.

1957 Ford Country Sedan 9 passengers and shasta Airflyte trailer
Harold replied to zelkam's topic in Model Cars
That's a beautiful combination. You've really captured the character of both the Ford and the trailer . Jairus, I'm tempted to load your Ford on the trailer and haul it home . -
Ooooh, nice. Xenon headlights even. Great job.

Absolutely cool. I like the rear window in the open position. Nice touch.

Parts box fillers............which kits?
Harold replied to Nick Winter's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
AMT '67 Impala. Floorpan, chassis and engine compartment will work under a lot of mid- sixties GM full sizers (Grand Prix, Wildcat, Bonneville, 88) AMT '60 Ford. Floorpan, chassis and engine compartment can be used under virtually any 1960- '64 full- sized Ford, Mercury or Edsel. AMT '65 Ford. Chassis can be modified for use under any '65- '70 full- size Ford, Mercury or, with some work, the Thunderbird from '67- '71. -
What is your dream model kit?
Harold replied to Jordan White's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
How about a few orphans? Say a '56 Golden Hawk (the one with the 352 from the Clipper), 1955-'56 Packard (Caribbean or 400), any mid to late sixties AMC (I'd love to see a Javelin or AMX or a Marlin), 1969 Continental Mark III, 1983- '86 Thunderbird, a Mark VII....... -
Admit it- you used Mr. Obsessive's shrinking ray . Beautiful work.

Last Wednesday I got GT5 . I'd been putzing around with Prologue and GT4 all year waiting patiently. It was definitely worth the wait. The graphics are fantastic. There's a few new tracks- Nurburgring F1, Monza, Indianapolis (oval and road course), Daytona (oval and road course)and many of my favorite originals (though they dropped Apricot Hill, which was my favorite of the originals because of it's collection of decreasing- radius turns). We have Tsukuba, Cote D'Azure (say Monaco), Suzuka, Lemans 2005 and 2009 (with new runoff areas for 2009 and both with and without the bus stops on the Mulsanne), Nurburgring North Loop (my absolute favorite) and a whole slew of others. As for cars, well, Ferrari, Lambo, a bunch of Nascar stockers (43, 99, 14, 11, 20, 18, 24, 42, 48 and 88) and a really nice '71 Mach 1. I just need to finish the licenses so I can get into the more lucrative races. I love it...

The Most Dangerous Car You've Ever Owned
Harold replied to David G.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
While driving home from work one day in '99, my '88 T- Bird started making weird noises from the front. Well, I had an errand or two to run before I got home, and beleive me, I barely made it home. ang ball joint snapped. At first, when I saw the metal ribbon exiting from one of the hales in the front wheel, I thought some of the guys at work were jeking me around by putting aluminum shavings in my wheel. But nope- that wasn't aluminum- that was hard steel from a ball joint. Other than that, it was a solid car... -
I don't know about the actual German Shepherds, but if you have a Photobucket account, you can upload their pictures...

For that price, a drag model should come with spike heels and a pink slip .

Nice truck. The Ranger name has some history in Ford. The Marmon- Harrington 4x4 conversion on the panel truck was called the Ranger. The Ranger then became the entry- level Edsel. In the mid- 60's the name was used on a forward- control show truck.

Lemme see- for spray paint, I usually use Dupli- Color or Plastikote, though at times I'll use Tamiya or Testors. For clear, I use Dupli- Color. For brush paints, I use Polly S acrylics, along with Tamiya acrylics. Then there's the Testors Metallizers (bottle and spray can).

Out of Cranky's Lab-RAT-ory–Endlessly Rocking
Harold replied to Dr. Cranky's topic in Tips, Tricks, and Tutorials
Awesome job, Cranky . Looks like it was rescued from an old barn after forty years of storage.
