  1. Very nice Roy. If you every choose to build another one Fireball Modelworks offers a very nice set of the Minilite wheels and tires (FMR-049) for this car. Here is the link. http://www.fireballmodels.info/
  2. All racing versions of the Revellogram 427 Cobra kit also have them.
  3. Nice James. What is your opinion of Eduard's PE seat belts?
  4. Same here Renegade (Terry).
  5. Michael Schumacher's manager: Hopefully one day he will be back with us Michael Schumacher's manager has called for "support and patience" in the hope that one day the seven-time world champion will return to health. Schumacher suffered severe head injuries in a skiing accident in December 2013 and is still in recovery at his home in Switzerland. Details of his condition remain scarce, but speaking at the opening of an exhibition to celebrate his career, his manager Sabine Kehm said there is still hope that one day he will be "back with us". "He is the most successful driver in history and sometimes, on days like this, it is good to be reminded of it," Kehm said. "Of course, Michael is not here and of course we miss him. We know what has happened and cannot change it. We must accept it and hope with everything we have that, with continued support and patience, he will one day be back with us." Earlier this month, former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo said the news was not good on Schumacher after saying he regularly checks up on the condition of the seven-time world champion.
  6. No BMF Gene, just lightly rubbed the paint off to expose the white plastic underneath.
  7. Try the primer Gene and if you don't like it paint over it with the Gunmetal.
  8. Gauges with lenses.
  9. Mercedes' current F1 engine (the most powerful F1 engine they have ever made) is producing "in excess of 900 bhp" from 1.6 liters with "no reason to believe the development rate will slow in the next few years". Turbo or not that is BLAH_BLAH_BLAH_BLAH impressive. The forum software censored me: I should have said "darn" impressive.
  10. No problem Joe. I just look at the pictures myself sometimes.
  11. Model Factory Hiro produces impressive kits and they appear intent on testing the limits of what we are willing to pay in all scales. 1:12 scale: $600+ 1:24 scale : $200+ 1:43 scale: $150+
  12. Jez Joe you just want me for my pretty pictures. You don't even read what I write.
  13. "The best way to make a small fortune in racing is to start with a larger one."
  14. I like the weathered version much better.
  15. I think Haas’ approach makes perfect sense for a startup team and in future years I hope they bring more of the design responsibility in house. As for producing the car unfortunately nearly all the necessary resources and suppliers are in Europe. It wouldn’t make sense for a new European NASCAR team (!!?) to build the car in England – would it? USF1 tried to blaze their own trail and build nearly all the car in America and flamed out before ever even completing the car. I am also happy with their driver choices. I was worried they would go for just an American name. Haas needs experienced F1 drivers in order to develop the car, and development is none stop. Putting an inexperienced driver in an inexperienced team would lead to nothing but frustration and disappointment. If they are successful I think we will see more of an American flavor to the team in time.
  16. I kinda like the hood a different color Gene.
  17. Looks like a nice kit. Are the wheels and tires cast as a single piece?
  18. How 'bout some pictures?
  19. Sorry Pat didn't mean to hijack your thread.
  20. I'm not an electrician but I did a bit of research and apparently there is no issue with horizontal panel installation in Canada. However in the USA: 240.33 Vertical Position. Enclosures for overcurrent devices shall be mounted in a vertical position unless that is shown to be impracticable. Circuit breaker enclosures shall be permitted to be installed horizontally where the circuit breaker is installed in accordance with 240.81. Listed busway plug-in units shall be permitted to be mounted in orientations corresponding to the busway mounting position. 240.81 Indicating. Circuit breakers shall clearly indicate whether they are in the open “off” or closed “on” position. Where circuit breaker handles are operated vertically rather than rotationally or horizontally, the “up” position of the handle shall be the “on” position. So as I understand it in the US a panel can be mounted horizontally however the requirement that the on postion for the breaker be up you effectively elimate half of your breaker slots.
  21. Welcome Gary. Look forward to seeing your race car projects.
  22. Here is some history Tommy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nickey_Chevrolet
  23. The HRM engine is 1/24 scale but I think it fits both the AMT and the Sunny 1/25 scale kits just fine. You have to sand down the top of transmission and tunnel/foot boxes a bit but that is about all. Here is the same engine installed in the AMT chassis for another project.
  24. COX6010 was a nearly stock Cobra and as such the dash layout was also stock. After painting the dash I flattened the end of a toothpick and rubbed the paint off the gauge face and the bezels. I'll flow in some Future to simulate a lens. Click on the photo to see the image full size, you can read MPH and RPM on the gauges.
  25. Thank you gentlemen for your interest. The Dragonsnake's interior was almost bone stock as was the dash layout. After painting the dash I flattened the end of a toothpick and rubbed the paint off the gauge faces and the bezels. I'll flow in some Future to simulate a lens. Click on the photo to see the image full size, You can read MPH and RPM on the gauges. I will do the dash on my COX6010 build the same way.
