Dave, I will tell you getting a nice painted finish on the body is the biggest challenge for beginning modelers. So I would suggest you find a kit where the body is one color basic. Notice the black trim around the windows on the 458 kit you referenced, you will need to paint that so it may not be a good starting point. Although an older body style (maybe a '32 Ford) might not be the type of car you are interested in but it would be a good starting choice. Something without a lot of chrome details on the body because again you will need to paint these details or apply self adhesive metal foil. A NASCAR kit might also be a good starter because the car is usually one basic color with all the graphics included as decals. I would not spend anywhere near $200 trying to build your first kit. You should be able to get the kit, glue and various paints (spray paint for the body and brush paint for various details) for around $60. When you are selecting a kit look for something with a Skill Level 2 or below. The higher the Skill Level number the more challenging the kit will be to build. Hope this helps and good luck. JC

Shay I can tell you the wheels will be 15 mm in diameter with the front wheel 8 mm wide and the rear 10 mm wide.

It will be awhile till I get them Shay. We are still designing the wheels and the tires. They will then need to be 3D printed and then resin cast. I will post pictures as soon as I have them.

Adding more detail to the front strut mounts including the brackets for the strut brace.

Car Modeler did a conversion story by Juha Airio for building a Comet GT that has lots of helpful info on helping with your Maverick body. Any idea what issue of Car Modeler had the article?

Shay, the wheels will be the correct 13" size with tires to match. The kit wheels/tires scale out to approximately 15".

Nice work Shay. You should consider signing up with a photo sharing website (I use Fotki, other use Photobucket) and post your pictures that way. The forum has a maximum limit on the number of pictures you can post directly but no limit if you use an external link. If you haven't already you are going to start getting messages that the file attachment is too large and the size limit will just keep shrinking until you can't post attachments at all.
