  1. Attached the front and rear panels and reshaped the front wheel wells slightly. The rear wheel wells still need significantly modification. Created the round driving light opening in the front valance. Opened and reshaped the air extractors in the front clip.
  2. I edited my post (#46) to include information on Fujimi's Daytona version
  3. Het has no road-racing or open wheel experience and hes going to step into an F1 car when he's nearing 40 - not happening.
  4. I bought a couple of magnetic knife racks at Ikea. I use them to hold files, tweezers & pliers.
  5. Here is Le Mans Miniatures Easy Line resin kit.
  6. Looks like it is all but a done deal.
  7. Schumacher has started to show moments of consciousness.
  8. Here is more information.
  9. David, I don't use ribbon any more I use stationary paper. Its easy to work with and color and you can cut it any width you need.
  10. Excellent build Jugen. I want to build the racing version some day.
  11. I agree with the quality life issues but 3/4 months post-accident is a little soon to give up all hope. I have heard rumors that the hospital wants to free up the critical care bed Schumacher is occupying for patients with greater needs.
  12. This doesn't sound good. Corinna, Michael's wife is having a medical suite built in their home.
  13. Is a stock Comet hood available in resin?
  14. Here is a summary of the Fujimi GT40 kits; GT40 MkII: Fujimi/Revel. The kit comes molded in either white or black. Some versions of the kit includes a Gurney bump others do not. Some of the differences for the Daytona version include, duel carburetors, rear fender flairs, alternate air splitter for the hood, alternate rear spoiler and a bulge in the back window above the carbs. All are curbside but build into a very nice replica of the GT40 MkII. GT40 MkI: Fujimi There are (2) body styles and (3) wheel styles. For the body you have the narrow rear flares like the two on the left and the wide rear flares like the body on the far right. Wheel choices are shown. The rear clip on all the kits is separate but the kit does not include and engine. Again the kit build into a fine replica of a GT40 MkI with the exception of the too narrow rear wheels/tires for the wide body car noted earlier in the thread.
  15. Andy unfortunately the build-up came without the original box so I don't have a kit number.
  16. The modified front suspension is on the left, notice how much lower the upper A-arms are. I had to modify the wheel upright to accept this lowered A-arm position. Fortunately the brake detail is not visible through the wheel.
  17. Opened up the front brake cooling ducts
  18. I acquired a Mercury Comet built-up and assumed it was Jo-Han's Pro-stocker. But after comparing them, this body has all the body molding and scripts which the pro-stock does not It includes the stock interior and the hood does not have the molded in hood pins. Is anyone familiar with a stock body Comet kit?
  19. I felt the nose was a bit to elongated so I removed as much as I could (about 1.5mm) without having to relocate the headlights. You can faintly see the line in the photo marking the material I removed. The change is subtle but worthwhile.
  20. We start raising the detail level by replacing the molded in fuel and oil fillers on the front clip.
  21. So as you can see in the kit photo above the chassis and interior are useless as a basis for an accurate replica. Therefore we will be using the Fujimi GT40 chassis and interior. As you can see from this photo the wheelbase is quite close. Unfortunately the Arii body is quite a bit shallower than the Fujimi. With the tires mounted they foul on the body quite a bit. This mean significant suspension mods will be required.
  22. When I traded for the LS/Arii GT40 kit I was really hoping to build the '65 Daytona Winner (GT103). Unfortunately after examining the kit and in particular the shape of the nose it was clear that it would take substantial work the make it look like GT103. I dug through my reference material and searched the internet and came up with something that I think I can handle. I intend to build P/1005 that was entered by Scuderia Filipinetti in '65 Le Mans. The car only lasted until the 2nd hour but I think it is a nice looking car by a significant race team so I am going to give it a go. This is the kit we are starting with.
  23. Nope inner fender panels are there and attached to the front clip just like the 1:1 car.
  24. Despite the sink and ejector pin marks, they build up into a respectable set of saw horses.
  25. Very nice color choice and build. I prefer cars without a bunch of chrome.
